Kinder’s Lemon Pepper Dry Wings

I admit, there was a time when lemon pepper and I were not pals. Seemed like every time I picked up a bottle of seasoning it was either too lemony or too peppery. There was no good balance for me. Well that all changed with Kinder’s lemon pepper dry wings. You know it’s good if I use it for dry wings. There’s no hiding with dry wings. You gotta bring flavor. You’re not going to hide behind a sauce. You have to bring it. And this seasoning brings it with that perfect balance, bite after bite.

Kinder's Lemon Pepper Dry Wings

I Make These Wings Often. Not Often Enough, Though

I keep my dry wings simple. That’s what dry wings are supposed to be. I usually cook them in my air fryer. Then I hit them with the seasoning. And lots of it. And I let it rest for a few minutes. Then I get to eatin’! Kinder’s lemon pepper dry wings are the perfect snack or lunch. Nice clean flavor, and great wings!

Also try Kinder’s mild BBQ wings. They’re great!

I prefer to season my wings immediately after cooking them. The seasoning will stick to the surface of the hot wings better than if you wait until they cool off.

Marie Sharp’s Smoked Habanero Wings

If I were forced to say just one word about Marie Sharp’s Smoked Habanero wings it would be: Wow. The sauce is just amazing. The smoked habaneros have a fantastic flavor. Smoky, yes. Spicy, yes. Fresh ingredients. These are just the most lip-smackingly-good wings ever. I could devour these wings all day long.

Marie Sharp's Smoked Habanero Wings

A Truly Amazing Sauce

A little hot sauce and a little butter is all it takes to make the fantastic goodness that is these Marie Sharp’s Smoked Habanero wings. The wings themselves don’t have to be fancy. No special deep-fried wings needed. No heavily-seasoned air fryer wings required. Keep the wings simple and don’t hide what’s coming: a fantastic sauce.

Copycat Wingstop Cajun Wings

Oh man did these copycat Wingstop Cajun Wings ever hit the spot. I love Buffalo wings. You know, the classic flavors. These wings are like that but kicked up with Cajun seasoning. That’s where these wings took Buffalo wings from great to fantastic. I cannot wait for the next time I make a batch of these wings. I found myself craving them again the moment I finished them. As simple and as easy as they were to make, they are certainly one of my favorites!

Copycat Wingstop Cajun Wings

Deep-Fried Greatness

These copycat Wingstop Cajun Wings are spot-on great. I made a small batch for my lunch the other day. Since it was just me I used my lil ole Fry Daddy fryer. It’s small but it more than does the job. It only takes 8-10 minutes to fry up a batch of delicious wings like these. And it uses only a few cups of oil, which is a big savings over hauling out my big restaurant-style fryer. Yeah that baby’ll cook a ton of wings but boy does it ever use a lot of oil!

You gotta use Frank’s RedHot for the sauce. Gotta.

Fricker’s Hot Wing Sauce Wings

Balance. That’s what I want in a hot Buffalo wing sauce. I don’t want too much vinegar, or butter, or cayenne or whatever else might be in there. I want to taste every ingredient without just one burying the rest. Balance is exactly what you’ll find in Fricker’s Hot Wings. I picked up a bottle of their hot Buffalo-inspired sauce last time I was in a restaurant. As soon as I got home, I made a quick batch of air fryer wings and proceeded to toss them in the sauce. And in no time, they were gone!

Fricker's Hot Wings

The Right Amount of Heat

I really like the heat level and taste of Fricker’s hot wings. When a bottle says ‘hot’ I want some heat, but I don’t want to be on my knees begging for the pain to stop, either. This sauce has just the right spiciness for me. And I really, really love the flavor. It’s a very ‘pleasant’ sauce, one that makes me happy again and again.

Kinder’s Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce Wings

Oh my goodness. Now, I’ve had my share of BBQ sauces. I’ve made my share of them too. And I love them on everything from smoked ribs to grilled burgers to yep, wings. These Kinder’s Roasted Garlic BBQ sauce wings are crazy good. This sauce is easily one of the best I’ve ever had. It has just the right amount of garlic flavor. A hint of sweetness but it’s not cloyingly sweet. It’s got the perfect thickness to stick to wings but it’s not gloppy. I cannot get enough of this sauce on wings and I cannot wait to try it on all things grilled, too!

Kinder’s Roasted Garlic BBQ Wings

Not Too Garlicky and Not Too Sweet

Kinder’s Roasted Garlic BBQ sauce wings are a great wing to serve when you want to make everyone super happy at your next party. Sure, put out a good-sized platter of traditional Buffalo wings. You have to. But next to it put a big batch of these BBQ-sauced wings. Then sit back and watch them disappear. This is a great sauce.

5 Salt 5 Pepper Air Fryer Dry Wings

Oh, me. These 5 Salt and 5 Pepper air fryer dry wings are why I am such a big fan of un-sauced wings. Sure, you can make these and still sauce them. And you should. But do yourself a favor and try them dry. They’ll make a believer out of you.

Packed with flavor

The 5 Salt and 5 Pepper seasoning from Kroger is packed with flavor. So, you ask yourself, really? Are there really 5 different kinds of salt and 5 different kinds of pepper in it? Yes! Here’s proof. The salts: sea, pink Himalayan, Cypress white, French grey, and fleur de sel. The peppers: cayenne, chili, black, red and green bell. All combine for a decidedly different taste that hits every part of your tongue. And makes it tingle!

5 Salt 5 Pepper Air Fryer Dry Wings

Be heavy-handed!

Do not be shy with the seasoning when it comes time to make your 5 Salt 5 Pepper Air Fryer Dry Wings. Seasoning them good and let them dry brine in the fridge for 30 minutes before cooking them. That’ll help get some of fantastic salty pepperiness deep inside, making each bite completely incredible. Afterward, season them even more after they’re cooked up crispy hot.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Season the wings with the 5 Salt and 5 Pepper seasoning. Do not be shy with it. Toss to get the seasoning coated evenly on all sides.
  • Place wings in fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Lightly spray the basket of your air fryer with non-stick spray. Preheat per manufacturer's recommendation to 350 F.
  • Add the wings to the basket (be careful it's hot!).
  • Cook wings for 12 minutes.
  • Flip the wings and cook another 12 minutes.
  • Increase the air fryer temperature to 400 F and cook another 6 minutes.
  • Remove wings from fryer and place in a bowl. Toss with more seasoning, to taste.
  • Let cool slightly (the wings will crisp as they cool) then serve.

Notes

Note: The full 30 minute cook time is for large, meaty wings. If your wings are a bit thinner (er… scrawny) back the times down to 10/10/4 minutes instead of 12/12/6 minutes.

Buttermilk Wings

I almost crossed the line into grandma’s deep-fried chicken with these buttermilk wings. Actually, I did cross the line. But that’s ok, I saved myself by drizzling traditional Buffalo wing sauce over these crunchy, tasty beauties before devouring them. Yeah, you sure can toss your battered wings in sauce, but beware! That lovely coating can be fragile. It doesn’t like being thrown hither and yon (which I think means tossed a lot). That’s why I prefer to drizzle the wings with sauce or dunk them in it instead.

Buttermilk Wings

A Fantastically Crunchy Tasty Wing

If you have some of your favorite wing seasoning on hand, I recommend substituting it for the salt and paprika when you make these buttermilk wings. It’s a great way to create a sort of deep-fried ‘dry’ wing. Nothing wrong with salt and paprika, nope. But you bought that wing seasoning for a reason! Get it in the flour mix and don’t be shy with it!

If I’m cooking for a crowd, I’ll break out my big deep fryer. But if it’s just me, I’ll fire up my Fry Daddy fryer. It’s the perfect size. It fries everything perfectly. And as an added bonus, it doesn’t use a lot of oil, which saves me money. And more money means more wings!

Rub Your Chicken Buffalo Wings

“Tame.” That’s the first word that came to mind after my first bites of some Rub Your Chicken Buffalo wings. After my last two super-hot Buffalo wing sauces, “tame” was a welcomed thing. Great traditional flavor, buttery and just slightly spicy, this is a great sauce for those desiring the classic without being overwhelmed. The amount of vinegar is spot on. Again, tame is the best way to describe it.

Rub Your Chicken Buffalo Wings

A Nice Mellow Buffalo-Inspired Sauce

Rub Your Chicken Buffalo wings sauce (from BBQ Spot) isn’t just for wings. It’s a great dipping sauce for nuggets, too. Anywhere you want great Buffalo flavor without being overwhelmed, you’ll want this sauce. That’s also why it makes for a great marinade, specially for chicken breasts. A few hours in the sauce then onto the grill. In no time you’ve got great chicken packed with flavor.

Simple Truth Organic Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

I’m sorry. I tried. I really tried. But I just could not make these Simple Truth Organic Medium Buffalo wing sauce wings work for me. I’m a nice guy. I gave them a chance. I made them two days in a room, two different ways, to make sure that it wasn’t me. Maybe I had a cold, I thought. Maybe the humidity was affecting my taste buds. But no, they still lacked something. The sauce starts out making me think that it’s a thin French salad dressing, with only a bit of flavor. Then there is heat next, and it’s good. I like the heat level I have to say. And there’s a little more flavor at that point. I just can’t get past that early… meh.

Simple Truth Organic Medium Buffalo Wings

Don’t Stop Believing

Now, don’t let these Simple Truth Organic Medium Buffalo wing sauce wings stop you from trying other flavors in this line of ‘clean’ sauces from Kroger. I’ve had great success and a lot of great batches of wings tossed in the other flavors. I just wanted happy with this one. But you know, we’re all different, and maybe (just maybe) you’ll like it! Wing-Time Honey Bourbon Wing Sauce Wings

The sauces from Wing-Time are crazy good. Their Buffalo-inspired versions are insanely flavorful and come in spice levels from mild to hot. The Wing-Time Honey Bourbon wing sauce is equally fantastic. It’s a traditional Buffalo sauce at heart. They added some honey to give it some sweetness. Delicious. Then just enough bourbon so you go ‘wow’.

Wing-Time Honey Bourbon Wings

I Was Wrong. I Love Bourbon-Flavored Sauces!

Here I was thinking that maybe I wouldn’t like a bourbon-infused sauce. And boy was I ever proven wrong. This is great stuff right here, and it made for some of the best wings I’ve had!

I would recommend that if you find any bottles of Wing-Time Honey Bourbon wing sauce, grab them. No matter what happens, you’ll still get to enjoy some fantastic wings.

I couldn’t find any contact info for Wing-Time online. Their website is gone. Their Facebook page is inactive. Fortunately, though, the manufacturer of their sauces, Allied Old English, is still around (but didn’t respond to a DM on FB). I sure hope this means that their sauces will still be available online and in stores.
