Grillers and BBQ smokers all over tout how great Meat Church’s seasonings are. Me, I always make wings first with any new seasoning I pick up. I don’t sauce them. I don’t bury them in other flavors. My favorite is making dry wings. And I found these air fryer Holy Voodoo wings to be absolutely delicious! The seasoning is slight sweet with both white and brown sugar. It’s a bit salty, but I do tend to like salty seasonings. And it’s just a tad spicy.

Air Fryer Holy Voodoo Wings

Double-Seasoned

I season my air fryer Holy Voodoo wings a bit before putting them into the air fryer. Now, because of the sugars in the seasoning I don’t go nuts with it. But I want that flavor before to be added before and after cooking the wings. You can actually skip this step but.. why?

Try all of the seasonings from Meat Church on wings. Or whatever you’re cooking.

There’s nothing fancy about the air fryer that I use. But it works great on wings. I use it a lot. And I do mean a lot. Mostly for wings. I know. Shocking. Cleanup is fairly easy. It easily holds enough wings for two people. Or one me when I’m really wing-hungry.

I love using my air fryer for wings. Checkout some of my favorite wing recipes, all made using an air fryer.

Air Fryer Holy Voodoo Wings

Sweet, salty and just spicy enough!

Instructions

  • Season the wings with the Meat Church Holy Voodoo seasoning. Don't go crazy with it as the high heat from the air fryer can burn the sugars. You want enough to taste the great flavors, but don't drown the wings in it.
  • Place wings in fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Lightly spray the basket of your air fryer with non-stick spray. Preheat per manufacturer's recommendation to 350 F.
  • Add the wings to the basket (be careful it's hot!).
  • Cook wings for 12 minutes.
  • Flip the wings and cook another 12 minutes.
  • Increase the air fryer temperature to 400 F and cook another 6 minutes.
  • Remove wings from fryer and place in a bowl. Toss with more seasoning, to taste. Now's a good time to not be shy with the seasoning.
  • Let cool slightly (the wings will crisp as they cool) then serve.

Notes

Note: If your barbecue sauce is refrigerated, set it out on the countertop before starting the wings so that it warms up a bit. You don’t want to put cold sauce on hot wings.
Note: The full 30 minute cook time is for large, meaty wings. If your wings are a bit thinner (er… scrawny) back the times down to 10/10/4 minutes instead of 12/12/6 minutes.
