Frank’s RedHot Garlic Buffalo Wings

I want to personally thank everyone that had anything at all to do with Frank’s RedHot Garlic Buffalo wing sauce. From the ingredients, to the packaging, to getting it on my grocery store’s shelves, you’re all heroes! Ok, so maybe that’s a bit much, but I’m a huge garlic fan and oh boy does this sauce ever pack in the garlic flavor. All in a (of course) a fantastic traditional Buffalo sauce. I cannot get enough of this. There’s no lack of flavor (and a bit of heat) here. These Frank’s RedHot Garlic Buffalo wings are fantastic!

Frank's RedHot Garlic Buffalo Wings

Garlic. And Lots of It.

This is the part where I stress how much garlic flavor is in Frank’s RedHot Garlic Buffalo wings. Or I was going to. But why? You’re here because you were looking for a garlic wing sauce. You didn’t Google ‘I want a lame, flavorless sauce’ to get here. Or at least I hope you didn’t! No, you’re here for the same reason as I am: to celebrate great garlic and Buffalo flavors on wings!

Brrrrrrrrrr!

Put any leftover sauce in an air-tight container and keep it in the fridge until the next time you make wings. When it’s time to sauce your wings don’t just pour that cold sauce over them. You’ve spent all that times getting your wings perfect. Crispy skin. Perfect coating. Hot. No matter how you cooked them, you devoted time to making sure they are spot-on delicious. Do not ruin them by adding a cold sauce. First, obviously, it’ll make them cold. In an instant. And secondly, and just as important, cold sauce will make that crunchy skin un-crunchy even quicker than a hot sauce.

So bring your sauce to at least room temperature before using it. If you want, warm it on the stovetop. I’m not a fan of using a microwave to warm sauces, but you can do that if you want.

Also try some Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Ranch dry wings! They’re great too!

Cholula Caliente Wings

These Cholula Caliente wings are something special. Traditional Buffalo wing sauce needed a south-of-the-border twist, and this is it. Nicely spicy, it has a great combination of peppers that make for one of the best tasting sauces I’ve had. If you’re a fan of Cholula’s hot sauce, you’ll be an even bigger fan of this wing sauce.

Cholula Caliente Wings

A Great Tasting Sauce

It’d be an understatement to say I’m a big lover of Cholula’s Caliente wing sauce. Ditto their other wing sauce that I’ve tried, Cholula Mexicali. And like any Cholula sauce, wing or hot, it’s good on just about anything. Like nachos. Or tacos. You name it. I don’t use it sparingly, I load up and then I add some more. No such thing as too much of this sauce.

And, according to my wife, the bottle is pretty.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

What Are You Waiting For?

Go make some wings! It’s not that hard to do! My go-to method is to air-fry them. A little seasoning first. Air-fried to perfection. Fantastic aroma as they cook. Crispy skin. Juicy meat. Tender. Ready for a sauce. Air-fried wings can hold up to being tossed with sauce, so that’s what I do. If they were deep-fried with a batter I wouldn’t abuse them like that. I’d gently brush the sauce on. Or serve it on the side, for dipping.

See my guides for cooking your wings and for saucing them! I’ve got you covered!

My Trusty Wingman

My air fryer isn’t fancy. It doesn’t have any bells and whistles. Well, ok, it does have a bell when the timer goes off but that’s it. I don’t even use the timer actually. I use a timer on my phone that has two countdowns: one for 12 minutes and one for 6 minutes. That’s all I ever need to get perfect wings each and every time!

Hooters 3 Mile Island Wings

This is it. The pinnacle of wings from a chain restaurant, Hooters 3 Mile Island wings. But made at home with little fuss and tons of reward. Yeah, they’re spicy. They’re mighty spicy in fact. But tasty too. Heat and tasty are a good thing. Lightly breaded and fried in no time, these are definitely one of my favorite wings of all time. These are not wings for the faint of heart. For the fearful of the heat. You have to be committed to these. Take that first bite, and keep going until you’re done. No breaks. No resting. Get in there, and enjoy every spicy bite!

Hooters 3 Mile Island Wings

Buckle Up, It’s Going To Be A Spicy Ride

For me, these Hooters 3 Mile Island wings have just the right amount of heat. I mean heck yeah, they’re spicy. If you’re not really into that kick, you can make Hooters traditional hot wings at home too. Same great flavor without all the heat. But still a good bit of it, though. If you’re after hot wings don’t mess around with it.

It’s Not All Heat

I have a thing about wings being so darned hot that all I get is burn and pain and no flavor. Not with these. That’s why I like them so much. Even though I know I’m in for a spicy ride, I know that ride is also flavorful. I wouldn’t go on the ride if I didn’t get taste, too.

Lillie’s Q White Wings

The more and more Lillie’s Q white wing sauce I eat, the more I love it. That’s not to say it’s growing on me. I loved it right out of the bottle the first time. It’s just that I keep finding it to be even more enjoyable on each and every batch of wings that I make. It’s got a great spice level. A bit of a kick. Enough to make my lips tingle. It has a slight vinegar flavor, like any Alabama white sauce-like sauce. But it’s not overpowering. It’s creamy, mayonnaise-like, but it doesn’t taste like mayonnaise. It’s different and it’s great! And so are Lillie’s Q White wings!

Lillie's Q White Wings

Thick And Ready To Do The Job

Lillie’s Q white wing sauce is thick. It’s a bit hard to get it out of the glass (yes! glass! Thank you!) bottle. Give it a good shake before using it. And I don’t mean one of those ‘shake-shake-done’ things. Shake it like you mean it. And don’t be shy with it. It kind of ‘melts’ as you put it on your wings. If you go super light you might not see it. Not that it won’t be there. You’ll get the heat in every bite of some Lillie’s Q White wings!

Wing-Time Thai Chili Buffalo Wings

I, like a lot of people, am a big fan of the Buffalo wing sauces from Wing-Time. They’re creamy, delicious, and come in different heat levels so they’re great for anyone and any occasion. So I was excited when I came across the Wing-Time Thai Chili Buffalo wing sauce in the grocery store. But, honestly, the first taste killed that excitement pretty quick. For a Buffalo sauce, this is another great sauce. But I got no Thai Chili flavor at all. I tried, too. I even asked others to taste it. Nothing. What happened? I don’t know. So, good Buffalo sauce, but not a Thai Chili sauce in my opinion. But Wing-Time Thai Chili Buffalo Wing Sauce wings are still good!

Wing-Time Thai Chili Buffalo Wings

I’m Kinda Sad. Actually, I Am Sad.

I couldn’t find any contact info for Wing-Time online. Their website is gone. Their Facebook page is inactive. Fortunately, though, the manufacturer of their sauces, Allied Old English, is still around (but didn’t respond to a DM on FB). Boy, I sure hope this means that their sauces will still be available online and in stores. I also hope that my experience with the Wing-Time Thai Chili Buffalo wing sauce was a fluke! Because I sure do love their other sauces. Maybe my bottle got mis-labelled!

There are a good number of garlic Parmesan wing sauces on the market. I knew that the one from Legend Larry’s would stand above the crowd. All of their wing sauces do. Kosmos Q Seven Pepper Face Lift Dry Wings

You probably don’t need me to tell you that there’s a lot of pepper in this seasoning. Kosmos Q Seven Pepper Face Lift dry wings are crazy good, but I gotta warn you. It opens up with a kick. But I admit, that first kick was … a kick!

Make sure you seal your wing seasonings well after using. You don’t want any moisture sneaking in. Kosmos Q comes in quality pouches that seal perfectly!

Melinda’s Creamy Style Ghost Pepper Wings

There’s no denying it. Melinda’s Creamy Style Ghost pepper wing sauce is HOT. I do mean spicy, tingle-my-lips hot. But it’s a good burn. I’m not one of those guys that’s in a constant search for the latest, hottest sauce. I like a bit of a kick, and a lot of flavor. Well, this sauce has a lot of both. If you’re looking for a sauce that’ll wake you up and still tastes fantastic, grab a bottle. Use a little (like I did) or a lot (if you’re into heat!). Melinda’s Creamy Style Ghost Pepper wings pack a kick!

Hooters Hot Wings

This is what wings are all about. These Hooters hot wings (deep fried as they should be!) are as close to the real thing as you can get. Lightly crunchy, super tasty breading. Nicely spicy Buffalo wing sauce. No pain here, just great hot wings. This is not a copycat recipe. These wings are made with the same breading and sauce you can order online or pick up in the retail section at any Hooters. Get some, make these wings, and be happy!

Hooters Hot Wings

Beyond Great

I fry up my Hooters hot wings 6 or so at a time in a Fry Daddy fryer. It makes perfect wings. Only downside is you can’t select the cook temperature, so I end up cooking my wings a bit longer since the oil is around 325 F. Still it makes for great wings in no time with a lot less oil than if I’d used my big restaurant-style fryer!

Also try some Hooters medium wings for a little less heat!
