Sticky Crispy Garlic Wings

My goodness gracious me are these sticky crispy garlic wings ever good. The chicken cooks up crazy crunchy. It’s good enough to serve by itself. The batter is well-seasoned and is definitely not boring. Then there’s the sauce. Slightly sweet with a slight Asian-inspired flavor, it brings the garlic big time. And oh yes, it’s sticky. Get out the paper towels, because wimpy napkins aren’t going to cut it here.

Sticky Crispy Garlic Wings

Watch your sauce

The one thing you need to know before you dive in and make these sticky crispy garlic wings is that the sauce needs to be watched the entire time it simmers. Trust me on this. It’ll want to boil over. You might be thinking it won’t….. and then it will. Just keep an eye on it. If it starts to rise, just grab the pot handle and take it off the heat for a minute or two. Once it subsides, put it back. And keep keeping an eye on it.

No Tossing Zone

If I’m saucing deep-fried wings, specially ones with a thicker coating like these, I don’t like to toss the wings in the sauce. That’ll tend to knock off the crispy coating. Instead, I’ll put the wings in a bowl and drizzle them in the sauce then stir them gently with a rubber spatula. Or I’ll just serve the sauce on the side and dip my chicken wings in it instead.

Instructions

For the sauce (Warning: Do not leave the sauce un-attended while simmering)

  • Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the garlic and sauté for 2 minutes.
  • Add the honey, soy sauce and pepper. Stir. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to medium and let simmer for 10 minutes. Stir often and keep a close eye on the sauce as it simmers. It will want to expand and boil over the side of the pan. If this starts to happen, remove the pan from the heat until it subsides. Return to the stove and continue simmering.
  • Reduce heat to low and keep warm until ready to use.

For the wings

  • Heat 3-4" of oil to 350 F in a Dutch oven or deep fryer.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, ginger, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  • In a separate bowl whisk together the eggs and cold water.
  • Working in batches as needed, dip wings into the egg wash and coat well.
  • Shake off any excess and transfer to the flour mixture. Turn to coat well.
  • Transfer the wings to the oil and fry 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate or wire rack over a baking sheet to drain.
  • Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl. Drizzle with the sauce and stir gently to coat. Click here for our guide on how to sauce your wings.
  • Serve immediately.

Frank’s RedHot Stingin’ Honey Garlic Dry Wings

Frank’s RedHot Stingin’ Honey Garlic Dry Wings absolutely hit the spot. These are what dry wings are meant to be. Of course, you can use the seasoning on any wings, sauced or dried, but I highly recommend you try them dry first. You’ll get wonderful garlic flavor and lots of it. There’s not hunting for garlic here. Along comes just a little sweetness. Not a lot. And just the right amount of spicy tingle. Again, not a lot, but you’ll notice. Skip the dipping sauce, these dry wings are perfect without the need for anything else.

Frank's RedHot Stingin' Honey Garlic Dry Wings

A Great Balance of Garlic and Sweet

I am not shy with the seasoning when it comes time to make my Frank’s RedHot Stingin’ Honey Garlic Dry Wings. Hot out of the fryer (or oven, or off the grill, it doesn’t matter!), into a bowl, and it’s time to get to seasoning. A few good shakes all over, and give the wings a good toss. Then, usually, some more seasoning and another toss! Time to eat!

Working at Frank’s RedHot has to be a dream job!

Market District Sweet Honey Garlic Wings

“You should’ve bought more of this sauce. A lot more.”. Those were the first words out of my wife’s mouth after taking her first bite of the Market District Sweet Honey Garlic wings I made. As always, she was right. I shouldn’t have brought home just one bottle. It didn’t last long at all. We both enjoyed this sweet, thick sauce that is absolutely packed with the perfect amount of garlic. Yep, lots of garlic, just like we like it. A small hint of soy sauce and ginger round out what is a great sweet Asian-inspired wing sauce.

Market District Sweet Honey Garlic Wings

Plenty Of Garlicky Sweetness

These Market District Sweet Honey Garlic wings are like they say, sweet, without any spicy kick. A little garlic ‘punch’ is all the kick you’re going to get. And plenty of sweet, finger-lickingly good flavor. If you’re looking for a great alternative to your usual Buffalo-inspired spicy wing sauce, this is it.

Frank’s RedHot Garlic Buffalo Wings

I want to personally thank everyone that had anything at all to do with Frank’s RedHot Garlic Buffalo Wings sauce. From the ingredients, to the packaging, to getting it on my grocery store’s shelves, you’re all heroes! Ok, so maybe that’s a bit much, but I’m a huge garlic fan and oh boy does this sauce ever pack in the garlic flavor. All in a (of course) a fantastic traditional Buffalo sauce. I cannot get enough of this. There’s no lack of flavor (and a bit of heat) here.

Frank's RedHot Garlic Buffalo Wings

Garlic. And Lots of It.

This is the part where I stress how much garlic flavor is in Frank’s RedHot Garlic Buffalo Wings. Or I was going to. But why? You’re here because you were looking for a garlic wing sauce. You didn’t Google ‘I want a lame, flavorless sauce’ to get here. Or at least I hope you didn’t! No, you’re here for the same reason as I am: to celebrate great garlic and Buffalo flavors on wings!

Also try some Frank’s RedHot Buffalo ranch dry wings! They’re great too!

Cajun Power Garlic Sauce Wings

I’ve been a huge fan of Cajun Power Garlic Sauce for years. I seriously don’t know why I waited so long to use it as both a chicken wing marinade and sauce. I loved these Cajun Power Garlic Sauce wings. Seasoned perfectly. A little garlicky. Nice and rich and super yummy.

Cajun Power Garlic Sauce Wings

More Sauce is More Better

I loved these Cajun Power Garlic Sauce wings. But guess what? Cajun Power also makes Cajun Power Spicy Garlic Sauce. Perfect for your friends (like me) that prefer their wings nice and hot! It’s not crazy spicy, but it packs a nice heat.

You can’t put enough Cajun Power Garlic Sauce on your cooked wings. I’ve tried and it’s not possible. It’s also great for dipping wings instead of your usual cooling dips like blue cheese or ranch dressing.

If you like some extra sauce on the side for dipping your wings, these little cups are the perfect size.

Also try my chili garlic wings. They’re delicious too!

Wing Master Mega Garlic Wings

If you are in the Gatlinburg, Tennessee, area make it a point to swing by a Pepper Palace store. They have several stores in the area, including a new one in Sevierville in an area called The Island. The store is packed with hot sauces and salsas, from the hot to the mild. Me, I always head straight to the wing sauces and in particular, Pepper Palace’s own line of Wing Master sauces, including this Mega Garlic sauce.

Wing Master Mega Garlic Wings

Tons Of Garlic. Like You’d Expect.

As soon as we returned from our recent trip I threw a few seasoned wings onto my Weber Performer grill outfitted with the Vortex insert. When the wings were done I tossed them with the Mega Garlic sauce and dug in. The Mega Garlic sauce has, as you might guess, a tremendous garlic flavor. And not just a bit of garlic either. Hence the word ‘mega’ in the name. It’s loaded with garlic. Tons of it. Lovely, great yummy garlic. With a bit of a wing sauce kick, too. It’s a very enjoyable sauce. I definitely wish that I’d picked up a few more bottles!

Pepper Palace Is Flavor Heaven

Pepper Palace makes a ton of great sauces and seasonings, not just for wings. Find a store near you and spend an hour or two wandering the shelves. They always have an area where you can sample sauces and spices, too. It’s like flavor heaven. Instead, if there’s not one near you, take a road trip (it’ll be worth it) or order online.

Also try some Wing Master Ranch wings.
