Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Smokin’ Hickory BBQ Sauce Wings

You cannot go wrong with a good ole BBQ sauce and wings. Sure, I’ll take Buffalo wings any time, anywhere. But every once in a while I like that backyard-BBQ-inspired flavor on my wings. A little smoky flavor. A little sweetness. Slightly tangy. This time I grabbed a bottle of sauce with Guy Fieri’s face on it. Now, usually celebrity-chef sauces don’t impress me much. But this one did. Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Smokin’ Hickory BBQ sauce wings were fantastic thanks to this sauce.

Guy Fieri's Flavortown Smokin' Hickory BBQ Wings

Nice Everything.

Not too sweet. Not too thick. Not too smoky. Not too thin. Not too anything. This sauce is spot-on great. These wings were finger-lickingly delicious. And darn right, this sauce is great on anything BBQ too. Squeeze some on your ribs next time. Or nachos. And yes, a baked potato. Anything that needs a sauce, BBQ sauce is gonna work on it. Especially this one. These Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Smokin’ Hickory BBQ Sauce wings are great!

Brrrrrrrr!

Put any leftover sauce in an air-tight container and keep it in the fridge until the next time you make wings. When it’s time to sauce your wings don’t just pour that cold sauce over them. You’ve spent all that times getting your wings perfect. Crispy skin. Perfect coating. Hot. No matter how you cooked them, you devoted time to making sure they are spot-on delicious. Do not ruin them by adding a cold sauce. First, obviously, it’ll make them cold. In an instant. And secondly, and just as important, cold sauce will make that crunchy skin un-crunchy even quicker than a hot sauce.

So bring your sauce to at least room temperature before using it. If you want, warm it on the stovetop. I’m not a fan of using a microwave to warm sauces, but you can do that if you want.

Kinder’s Honey Hot BBQ Wings

Maybe you’ve heard of ‘sweet heat’ and just aren’t sure what that is. Or maybe you have heard of it, love it, and are craving more of it. Either way, Kinder’s Honey Hot BBQ wings are here to do one thing and that’s make you happy. The honey brings that wonderful natural sweetness. A little jalapeno brings just a kiss of spiciness. A hint of smoke all in a tomato-based sauce makes you think ‘backyard BBQ’. This is a great BBQ sauce that’s even better on wings.

Kinder's Honey Hot BBQ Wings

Stir it Up

Sometimes I toss my Kinder’s Honey Hot BBQ wings in the sauce. Sometimes I serve the sauce on the side (I like it warmed just slightly). But one thing I don’t do is toss battered deep-fried wings in sauce. I don’t want to lose that wonderful crusty coating. So if I’m serving deep-fried wings I either serve the sauce separately or I stir the wings gently after drizzling them with sauce using a rubber spatula.

Four Sixes Straight Sixes Spicy BBQ Sauce Wings

My squeeze bottle of this sauce didn’t last long at all. Not only were these Four Sixes Straight Sixes Spicy BBQ sauce wings fantastic, but the sauce also found its way onto some pulled pork sandwiches and baked potatoes. And some grilled chicken thigh sandwiches. This sauce is great all-around, but absolutely fantastic on wings. It’s what I call a “not overly” BBQ sauce. It’s not overly spicy. It’s not overly sweet. Or overly thick. It’s just spot-on in every category.

I found myself craving more of these Four Sixes Straight Sixes Spicy BBQ sauce wings not minutes after finishing them. They are the perfect balance of vinegar, sweet molasses and just a hint of heat. And I liked the slightly smoky flavor. All in a great stick-to-your wings consistency. I was glad I found a bottle of this sauce at my local grocery store. Now I have to go back and get more!

Crispy Woodfired Garlic Dry Wings

I made some delicious dry wings the other day using Kinder’s woodfired garlic rub. Man, were they ever insanely good. I fell in love with the roasted garlic flavor. Mixed with other spices, it’s a rich seasoning that is great on any meat. I was craving some deep-fried wings next, so I decided to add some of the seasoning and make my crispy woodfired garlic dry wings. And boy, did they ever deliver on flavor!

Crispy Woodfired Garlic Wings

Easy. Crunchy. And Tasty.

These crispy woodfired garlic dry wings took no time to prepare and cook. And eat for that matter. Kinder’s seasonings and sauces never disappoint. They don’t cut corners when it comes to quality and flavor. All I had to do was mix a little of this packed-with-roasted garlic seasoning with some flour and coat some wings. I let them ‘get happy’ in the fridge for 30 minutes. Then I fried them. That’s it. That’s all it takes to make perfect wings.

Got Seasonings?

You have to take care of your dry seasonings. In return, they’ll take care of you by always being ready the next time you need them! Protect seasonings from the four main enemies of flavor: heat, light, air, and moisture. Never store them above the stove or oven, where steam and temperature swings cause caking and quick degradation. If you have a problem with high humidity causing your dry seasonings to cake, try adding a silica gel packet to the containers to remove moisture.

Fry, Baby!

I love deep-fried wings. But it’s usually just me I’m cooking for. So there’s no reason for me to drag out my big deep-fryer that could easily cook for a crowd. No, this calls for my Fry Daddy. Perfect for one-to-four people’s-worth of wings. And it doesn’t use a lot of oil, that’s a major plus. It gets to temperature quickly and maintains it even when I add cold wings. It’s priced right too and lasts forever!

Ass Kickin’ Habanero Wings

Sometimes you come across a product with a name that implies it might be spicy only to find out that it’s not. Well, let me tell you straight up. These Ass Kickin’ Habanero wings do not lie. They do truly kick your butt. But they do it in style: with flavor. As much as I don’t like to be in pain, these wings brought on the best kind of pain possible.

Ass Kickin' Habanero Wings

Bringing the Heat

I admit it, I went kinda light on the sauce the first time I made some Ass Kickin’ Habanero wings. Hey, I’m no dummy. I tasted it from the bottle first. I loved the flavors. It’s like a traditional Buffalo sauce but oh so much spicier. And tastier. I definitely needed some blue cheese dressing to help me cool off from these wings.

The folks over at Bone Suckin’ sauces make a mighty tasty honey and habanero wings sauce. Give it a try too!

What Are You Waiting For?

Go make some wings! It’s not that hard to do! My go-to method is to air-fry them. A little seasoning first. Air-fried to perfection. Fantastic aroma as they cook. Crispy skin. Juicy meat. Tender. Ready for a sauce. Air-fried wings can hold up to being tossed with sauce, so that’s what I do. If they were deep-fried with a batter I wouldn’t abuse them like that. I’d gently brush the sauce on. Or serve it on the side, for dipping.

Wing-Time Mild Buffalo Wings

The Buffalo-style sauces from Wing-Time have always been a big hit with me. They always have the right heat level, from the hot to these Wing-Time mild Buffalo wings. They always have fantastic Buffalo-inspired flavors. That perfect balance of vinegar, butter and spices. Always finger-licking good, I’ve always been a fan. I enjoy my wings tossed in this sauce. Or dipped in it. Doesn’t matter how I get it onto my wings, it’s good!

Wing-Time Mild Buffalo Wings

Gone? Or Not Gone?

I gotta say, I’m not sure the makers of Wing-Time sauces are still around. I’ve tried contacting them but no luck. It’d be sad if they’re gone because they have made some of the best wing sauces around. These Wing-Time mild Buffalo wings are great proof of that. On the off-chance the company is going bye-bye I suggest you grab some bottles of Wing-Time mild Buffalo wing sauce now.

Update: The last time I was at Jungle Jim’s outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, I was able to get more Wing-Time sauces!

Lillie’s Q BBQ Aioli Sauce Wings

Yee-yowsa! You’re talking about some great wings here. I devoured my plate of Lillie’s Q BBQ aioli sauce wings. Boy I really wish I’d made more. This BBQ and mustard sauce hit the spot for me. It’s a creamy sauce. Not one of them traditional vinegary ones. It’s a wonderful mayonnaise concoction. A combination of a lightly smoky BBQ sauce and mustard. But not too much of either. You know how mustard can get .. … too mustardy? Well not here. It’s perfect. I could just pour this sauce in a bowl and grab a spoon it’s just that good.

Every bite of Kinder’s Thai BBQ sauce wings is fantastic. The sauce is rich. It’s thick. Stick-to-your wings thick. There’s soy sauce. A bit of lemongrass. Hints of ginger. Chili sauce. It’s kinda sweet but it’s balanced perfectly. Got extra sauce? Put it on some grilled shrimp. Squirt it into a stir-fry. This is one great sauce that has a lot of uses. But for me, it’s flat out great on wings!

Kinder’s Black Cherry Chipotle BBQ Sauce Wings

I’d been on a sweet wing sauce kick. I needed something to bring me out of that. Something to wake me up. Something to wake up my taste buds. Kinder’s Black Cherry Chipotle BBQ sauce wings did just that. Right up front, I got the tartness of black cherries. No mistaking that taste, that’s for sure. Old Mill Buffalo Wings

We were on vacation in Sevierville, TN for a few days. Whenever we travel I make it a point to seek out local stores that might have wing sauces I can’t find around home. This time we stopped at the Old Mill. The mill has been around almost 200 years and is the oldest operating grist mill in the US. They have a great restaurant and a store where you can get all sorts of great foods and other items. I of course grabbed a bottle of their Buffalo wing sauce so I could make some Old Mill Buffalo wings as soon as I got back home!

The sauce is your fairly standard Buffalo wing sauce. It has a nice heat level to it. And the flavor is actually quite good. I found it to be quite tasty. It’s a little on the thin side, but not so thin that you don’t end up with a lake of sauce on your plate.

Old Mill Buffalo Wings

Memories in a Wing

The Old Mill Buffalo wings are sure to satisfy with great traditional Buffalo flavor. And they also bring back memories. We had a great vacation (again) in the Sevierville area. Oh, and while you’re at the Old Mill store, pick up some of their many flours and corn meal mixes. They have great stuff for making fried chicken, fish and vegetables. And more. Lots more. Tons more.
