Got a vampire problem? Just too many of them creeping around at night? Well these air fryer Cajun creamy garlic wings are gonna take care of that. Forever. They don’t lack in garlic flavor, and that’s a good thing. Those chunks you see in the picture prove it. There’s garlic all over. These wings were made for garlic lovers like me. The sauce is creamy, with just a bit of heat. Sure, you’ll have garlic breath for a while. But it’s worth it!

The Sauce For All Occassions

The sauce on these air fryer creamy Cajun garlic wings is super tasty. And I bet that it’d be great on other foods too. Like maybe over pasta. Or perhaps for dipping toasted French bread slices. But, honestly, I don’t know for sure. Because I used up the entire batch of sauce on my wings. There wasn’t anything left.

More. Or Less?

Don’t be afraid to add more garlic. Ever. Can you use less? I guess. But why would you? It’s just 1/2 cup. It’s not like you need to mince 10 pounds of the stuff. Heck, it’s probably even good for you*.

* I don’t know if it is or not. Consult your physician with questions about that.

This recipe does call for a lot of wings. And even if you have a large air fryer you’re going to have to work in batches. That’s ok. If it’s going to be a while before you serve them just put the done ones on a wire rack over a baking sheet and place in an oven on the lowest temperature possible. You don’t want to dry them out with high heat. Just enough to keep them warm.

But….

No. You don’t have to air-fry the wings. If you prefer to cook them a different way, like bake them or deep-fry them, go for it. Just make the sauce and coat the wings after they’re cooked and you’re good to go! Enjoy!

Instructions

For the sauce

  • Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic and sauté for 4 minutes.
  • Add the pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, Cajun seasoning, chili flakes and Italian seasoning.
  • Stir well while sautéing for 2 minutes.
  • While whisking, slowly add the cream.
  • Bring to a simmer and let simmer, stirring often, until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.
  • Reduce heat and keep warm until ready to use. Give the sauce one last stir again before saucing your wings.

For the wings

  • Note: You'll have to work in batches if making the full recipe. You do not want to overcrowd your air fryer or the wings will not cook evenly.
  • Lightly spray the basket of your air fryer with non-stick spray. Preheat per manufacturer’s recommendation.
  • Combine the seasoning salt, pepper, garlic powder and baking powder. Sprinkle over the wings and toss to coat.
  • Working in batches, add the wings to the basket (be careful it’s hot!). If you have trouble fitting them without overlapping, stand the drumettes along the sides of the basket.
  • Cook at 360 F for 12 minutes for large wings, 10 minutes for smaller ones.
  • Carefully flip the wings (rotate the drumettes if they are standing) and cook another 12 minutes again (10 minutes for smaller wings) at 375 F.
  • Flip the wings one last time. Increase the temperature to 390 F and cook another 6 minutes (4 minutes for smaller wings).
  • When ready to serve, transfer the wings to a bowl and drizzle with the sauce. Toss gently to coat. Click here for our guide on how to sauce your wings.
  • Sprinkle with parsley and serve.

Notes

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce on the side, if desired.
