Plucker’s Spicy Mandarin Wings

Now this is different. Take a bite of Plucker’s Spicy Mandarin wing sauce and you’ll instantly taste orange and soy sauce. Not overwhelming flavors, but you won’t go hunting for them, that’s for sure. This is a nice change from the sweet chili or teriyaki sauce Asian-inspired wing sauces you usually find. Not that there’s anything wrong with those.

Plucker's Spicy Mandarin Wings

Decidedly Different. And Delicious.

I picked up eighteen different bottles of wing sauce from Plucker’s. It’s a wing restaurant based out of Austin, Texas. Every single sauce, like Plucker’s spicy mandarin wing sauce, has been fantastic. So many different exciting flavors in bottle after bottle. And it’s all quality stuff, too! I’d better get to making more wings!

Plucker’s Jamango Jerk Wings

What an enjoyable experience it is, sitting down to a big ole batch of wings covered in Plucker’s Jamango Jerk wing sauce. Kind of like a Caribbean BBQ sauce. You get mild mango flavor, a little heat, and just the right amount of jerk seasoning flavor. That’s important for me because jerk seasoning, when applied heavily, can be a bit much because of the allspice. This sauce has just the perfect amount.

Plucker's Jamango Jerk Wings

A Great Balance Of Island Flavors

Plucker’s Jamango Jerk wing sauce is another one of my top favorite sauces. But it’s not just for wings, that’s for sure. It’s fantastic slathered on grilled chicken. And absolutely great on smoked ribs. Anywhere you normally might use a store-bought BBQ sauce, use this wing sauce instead.

Smoky Chipotle Wings

I’ve been seriously addicted to making dry wings, like these smoky chipotle wings. My wife and I recently spent a few days in lovely Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while attending a conference. I made sure I had my ‘to-eat’ list down before leaving, because one thing you can be sure of finding in Pittsburgh: good food. At the top of my list was dry chicken wings. No, not dry like ‘ewww, this meat is dry’. Dry as in the wings aren’t tossed in sauce after being cooked. Instead they are dusted with seasoning. The end result is almost like roasted chicken, but with much more pronounced flavors.

Smoky Chipotle Wings

A Little Smoke. A Little Heat.

When you first taste the rub for these smoky chipotle wings you might think they’ll come out super spicy. Maybe too spicy for grandma. Well, no, actually. The heat mellows a bit while the wings cook. You’re left with a slightly smoky, slightly sweet, and a bit of heat flavor that is absolutely crazy good. Good enough for grandma, though you might want to run the idea by her first.

Smoky chipotle wings would be absolutely perfect served any time, but they’d really make a great appetizer for the big game. They’re easy to make and packed with flavor.

I like to make my spice, rub and seasoning mixes in big batches and keep them in large bottles with easy-to-pour shaker lids.

I prefer to season my wings immediately after cooking them. The seasoning will stick to the surface of the hot wings better than if you wait until they cool off.

Plucker’s Gold Rush Wings

I didn’t think I’d be as much a fan of a creamy, mustardy wing sauce as I ended up being when I tasted Plucker’s Gold Rush wing sauce on a batch of wings hot out of my air fryer. There are three kinds of mustard wing sauce: those with too little mustard, those with too much mustard, and those (the few) that are just perfect. This one is just perfect. Finger-lickingly good perfect. If I bite into a mustard-sauce wing and I smile, it’s crazy good and not just sorta good. I smiled a lot eating these!

Plucker's Gold Rush Wings

Another Tasty Sauce From Plucker’s

Plucker’s Gold Rush wing sauce is great on hot dogs, grilled or smoked ribs. And chicken (well, like other than wings of course!) too! And it makes for a great dipping sauce for chicken nuggets. It’s another great example of the quality, tasty wing sauces you can find at Plucker’s.

What Are You Waiting For?

Go make some wings! It’s not that hard to do! My go-to method is to air-fry them. A little seasoning first. Air-fried to perfection. Fantastic aroma as they cook. Crispy skin. Juicy meat. Tender. Ready for a sauce. Air-fried wings can hold up to being tossed with sauce, so that’s what I do. If they were deep-fried with a batter I wouldn’t abuse them like that. I’d gently brush the sauce on. Or serve it on the side, for sipping.

See my guides for cooking your wings, and saucing them! I’ve got you covered!

G Hughes Sugar Free Mango Habanero Wings

This is my second bottle of sugar free wing sauce from G Hughes. The first, Thai chili, was absolutely amazing. Was it a fluke that such a great sauce was also sugar free? Nope. Definitely not. Because G Hughes Sugar Free Mango Habanero wing sauce is just as amazing! Lightly fruity with a decent amount of heat, I really love this sauce. It’s finger-licking good. Delicious.

G Hughes Sugar Free Mango Habanero Wings

Sweet, but not too Sweet

I wouldn’t call G Hughes Sugar Free Mango Habanero wing sauce overly sweet, but it’s sweet (despite no sugar!). And I wouldn’t call it overly spicy, but it’s spicy. It strikes a nice balance between the heat and the sweet. I could definitely see myself using this as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets or as a sauce on grilled chicken or ribs.

Plucker’s Honey BBQ Wings

I bit my finger when I ate my lunchtime wings tossed with Plucker’s honey BBQ wing sauce. Yes, I was eating the wings so fast that my finger got in the way. I was blinded by wing love and must have thought, hey, that looks a bit like a drummette, let’s try that! And it was good! Ok, I’m sort of kidding, but man what a great sauce this is! It’s on the sweet side (the honey in the name gives it away). Not really any heat to speak of. But oh, oh, it’s soooo good!

Spicy Honey Wings

A little sweet. A little heat. Those are the keys to a great wing sauce. These spicy honey wings have the perfect combination of both. Even with my Fire-Eater rub and a healthy dose of hot sauce, they’re plenty sweet. Perfect for dipping in a bowl of cold Ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Spicy Honey Wings

This Is What Sweet Heat Is All About

I find myself sitting here and just staring at the picture of the spicy honey wings. Man, they sure were pretty, and they sure were delicious. I could easily make another batch for lunch today. I think I will. All of the ingredients to make the rub and sauce are pantry staples, and I always keep plenty of fresh wings around because you never know when you might want a few wings.

Frederik’s By Meijer Creamy Jalapeno Wings

I have nothing but good things to say about every Meijer wing sauce I’ve had. Now sold under the name Frederik’s by Meijer, their sauces are always tasty, have the perfect consistency needed for wings, and can be had at a great price. The Frederik’s by Meijer creamy jalapeno wing sauce is no exception. It’s a lightly spicy sauce, and not too spicy in my opinion. The bottle says it’s ‘medium’ which I think is spot-on. There’s a slight hint of citrus and smokiness. It’s crazy creamy good. If ever there was a finger-licking good wing sauce, this is it.

Frederik's By Meijer Creamy Jalapeno Wings

A Deliciously Complex Wing Sauce

As with any of their sauces, Frederik’s by Meijer creamy jalapeno wing sauce is great for more than just wings. It’s great as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets. It’s fantastic drizzled on a grilled or fried chicken sandwich. And I do mean fantastic!

Crystal Hot Sauce Buffalo Wings

Crystal Hot Sauce isn’t just good. It’s amazingly good. It’s not super spicy, not at all. But it’s oh so flavorful. It’s perfect on any food, but when you make a Buffalo wing sauce from it you’ve got something wonderful. These Crystal hot sauce Buffalo wings are definitely some of the best wings I’ve ever had. They are finger-licking good.

Crystal Hot Sauce Buffalo Wings

Flat-Out Deliciously Good Wings

When you make the sauce for these Crystal hot sauce Buffalo wings you have to be mindful of two things: don’t have the heat too high and don’t cook it too long. You want just the slightest simmer. Enough to melt the butter, warm things up, and dissolve the seasonings. If you have the heat too high, or cook the sauce too long, the sauce will separate. A little separation is normal, you can whisk the ingredients and they’ll come back together. But if you overheat or overcook, it won’t get that nice consistency no matter how much you whisk.

Sauce Much?

I like to serve my Buffalo wings sauced and with more of the sauce on the side, in dipping cups. I don’t over-sauce the wings themselves. I want great flavor, not a mess. But if I am craving more sauce, I have it right there, nearby, for dunking.

Is It Hot In Here?

You can adjust how hot these wings are by simply adjusting the ratio of butter to hot sauce. More butter and less hot sauce means, you guessed it, less heat. Less butter and more hot sauce? Yep, hotter wings. You can adjust them to be the way you want them. Or, if you’re feeding a crowd, make several batches. Some mild, some hot, and everyone will be more than happy!

Crystal also makes their own wing sauce. It’s delicious too!

Beef O Brady’s Garlic Parmesan Wings

We were on vacation in Georgia. I make a habit of checking out the wing sauce section of the local grocery stores when I go out of town. You never know what you might find. This time, I stopped at a Publix and wondered upon some Beef O Brady’s Garlic Parmesan wing sauce. Well, of course I bought some. And of course, as soon as we got back home I made some wings and tossed it with the sauce….. and…. Dang! What a great wing sauce! I mean crazy good! There’s no question it’s got garlic and Parmesan flavor. No question at all! It’s packed with flavor!

Beef O Brady's Garlic Parmesan Wings

One Heck of a Great Sauce

I cannot get over just how much I enjoy Beef O Brady’s Garlic Parmesan wing sauce. It’s not just yummy, it’s the perfect consistency. It would make for a fantastic chicken or steak marinade. And even a great salad dressing. This stuff is gold.
