Blonde Beard’s Holy Hell Wing Sauce Wings

I was afraid when I sauced up some hot-out-of-the-deep-fryer wings with Blonde Beard’s Holy Hell wing sauce. Cayenne and scotch bonnet peppers ain’t something to sneeze at. You gotta be careful. Now, I got the heat, oh yes, but the flavor! Oh my! This is one of the tastiest (and pretty dang hot) wing sauces I’ve ever had. Buttery, peppery, it’s just one killer sauce. I highly recommend this sauce to any Buffalo wing sauce lover.

Blonde Beard's Holy Hell Wings

A Favorite in this House

So this is the part of my posts where I usually add some brilliant comments about the sauce. Like ‘Blonde Beard’s Holy Hell wing sauce is also great on grilled chicken’. Something like that. And you know, I bet it is great on grilled chicken, but I’m keeping this sauce all for myself and my wings.

Try every flavor from Blonde Beard’s. Get a bottle of each. But get two bottles of the Holy Hell sauce!

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Also try Blonde Beard’s Rooster dry wings!

Alabama White Sauce BBQ Wings

Alabama white sauce is the kind of BBQ sauce that I thought was a bit odd at first. I love mayonnaise, but in a BBQ sauce? Huh? Vinegar, yeah, I get that. But the mayonnaise threw me, even though I’m a mayo-holic. But like a good lil trooper, I tried it and boy did I love it. Do love it. I’ve made my own a few times, but I recently discovered Duke’s Alabama style white southern dipping sauce and it’s one that I really really like, so that’s what I put on my Alabama white sauce BBQ wings!

Alabama White Sauce BBQ Wings

Go easy on the sauce

I like my Alabama white sauce BBQ wings just lightly sauced. Too much and I start to think I’m having potato salad. Or a creamy macaroni salad. The sauce has a great flavor, but there’s no need to go crazy with it. That’s just my opinion, of course. You can always put some sauce on the side for dipping your chicken wings.

Lillie’s Q also makes an outstanding white sauce that is great on wings! Give it a try!

G Hughes Sugar Free Sweet Honey Wings

It seems that, often, you can tell how many carbohydrates there are in a store-bought wing sauce based on just how yummy it is. Those sweet sauces don’t usually come for ‘free’. G Hughes Sugar Free Sweet Honey wing sauce is turning that idea around. Usually, sugar-free sauces are taste-free to boot, but not in this case. This sauce is packed with sweet honey flavor. And sometimes that sugar free stuff is a bit thin. Nope, not in this case either. This is a just-right-consistency sauce. No lakes of sauce at the bottom of my wing plate. This is a great finger-licking sauce. If the bottle didn’t say ‘sugar free’ I would’ve never even thought about it.

G Hughes Sugar Free Sweet Honey Wings

Have No Doubt, This Is A Great Sauce

I was surprised by how good G Hughes Sugar Free Sweet Honey wing sauce was since I’d been burned by sugar free sauces before. I’m happy with this sauce, very happy, and I look forward to trying all of the other sauces from G Hughes, from wing sauces to BBQ sauces. I probably owe them an apology for doubting them.

Frank’s RedHot Stingin’ Honey Garlic Wing Sauce Wings

You might just know Frank’s RedHot for their bottled Buffalo wing sauce. Well, let me tell you, they make a lot more than ‘just’ that! Frank’s RedHot Stingin’ Honey Garlic wing sauce is fantastic (too)! It’s a nice thick sauce, with just a hint of spiciness. You get a good dose of sweetness, too. And a touch of garlic. It makes for a great tangy chicken wing, for sure!

Frank's RedHot Stingin' Honey Garlic Wings

A Great Sauce For More Than Just Wings

I have chicken wings on the brain pretty much 24 hours a day. But I read somewhere where someone tried Frank’s RedHot Stingin’ Honey Garlic wing sauce on egg rolls. That would be the perfect match for this sauce (too)! Darn it, I wish I’d bought more. Well, I’m off to the store again. Get you some too, you’ll love it.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Peach Apricot Chile Wings

I had been jonesin’ for these peach apricot chile wings from the moment I ran across the original recipe. Not because I’m a big fan of apricots, mind you, but because I knew that the combination of sweet peach and apricot would go perfectly with spicy chile sauce. Heck, I think the sauce even changed my mind about apricots!

Peach Apricot Chile Wings

A Wonderful Taste Combination

I cooked these peach apricot chile wings on my Weber charcoal grill using the Vortex insert, which gives me that great crunchy skin and fantastic grilled flavor without a lot of effort. In fact, just about no effort whatsoever.

Usually I toss my wings with sauce after they are cooked, but this time I brushed some of the sauce onto the wings just before removing them from the grill. The sauce ‘set up’ a bit, making for the best sticky yummy wings you could imagine. I also served a bit extra of the sauce on the side for dipping.

I store my leftover homemade sauces in squeeze bottles. If refrigerated, I set them out an hour before using so they come to room temperature. You don’t want to put cold sauce on hot wings!

Buffalo Wild Wings Spicy Garlic Wing Sauce Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings Spicy Garlic wing sauce is a nice combination of a classic medium vinegar-based Buffalo wing sauce with plenty of garlic. Lots of garlic. It’s not too spicy, but it’s not not-spicy either. I’d say it’s about middle-of-the-road spicy. It’s a good sauce and a nice twist on good-ole Buffalo sauce.

Buffalo Wild Wings Spicy Garlic Wings

Nice and Garlicky

It’s hard to find this sauce online. So, if you can’t get it there just toot on down to your local Buffalo Wild Wings and pick up a few bottles.

Orange Soda Wings

Orange soda wings are a great example of how you should never think that something sounds weird and will taste even weirder. I thought that and I was wrong. I found these wings to be fantastic. The sauce is perfect. Think traditional Buffalo wing sauce, but with a bit of sweetness from honey, and a wonderful light hint of citrus. The soda cooks down and thickens, making sure that every drop sticks to the wings. Every bite is delicious. I was so pleasantly surprised!

Orange Soda Wings

A Surprisingly Good Sauce

I think the orange soda wings sauce would be great on something other than wings too. Grilled chicken breasts for sure. Grilled pork chops definitely. Smoked ribs too!

Make sure you use a good, quality and NOT DIET orange soda.

Buffalo Wild Wings Buffalo Dry Wings

Oh yum. Buffalo seasoning. Just the right amount of classic flavors, with a hint of butter. In a powder! Woo hoo! Boy, this is finger-licking good stuff, here. I’m a huge fan of ‘dry’ wings. These Buffalo Wild Wings Buffalo dry wings (try saying that 10 times fast!) are amazingly great and definitely one of my favorite dusted wings. If you’ve never tried dry wings, now is the time. Honestly, I hadn’t heard of them until just a few years ago and now I make or order them all of the time.

Buffalo Wild Wings Buffalo Dry Wings

A Good Seasoning for all Seasons

Buffalo Wild Wings Buffalo seasoning is definitely not just for chicken wings, although there’s no doubting that it’s spectacular on them! Sprinkle it on popcorn. Crackers. Grilled chicken. Burgers. Anything that needs a buttery Buffalo kick.

Make sure you seal your wing seasonings well after using. You don’t want any moisture sneaking in. This dust comes in shaker bottles that seal perfectly!

Plucker’s Spicy BBQ Wing Sauce Wings

Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I’d been especially good all year (cough), so I could ask for anything. New grill? Nope. AirPods? Nah. Eighteen different bottles of wing sauce from Plucker’s, a wing restaurant based out of Austin, Texas? HECK YEAH! And the first one I tried? The Spicy BBQ sauce.

This is what a wing sauce should be. A little heat (2 flames out of 5 on the Plucker’s heat scale). A wonderful BBQ flavor. Sometimes BBQ wing sauces are a bit too BBQ-y for me. Nothing wrong with putting straight up BBQ sauce on wings, but if you’re going to label it as a BBQ wing sauce it has to be more. And this sauce is more. Not too thick, not too thin, it’s a great sauce with a great BBQ flavor that isn’t overwhelming.

Plucker's Spicy BBQ Wings

This Is One Great Sauce

If Plucker’s Spicy BBQ wing sauce is any indication of how great the other 17 sauces are that I bought, Santa was very, very good to me indeed!

This sauce will be great on a grilled chicken sandwich, too. Or as a dipping sauce for nuggets. Or just slathered on a big ole rack of smoked ribs. But, boy is it ever fantastic on wings. No doubt, if I’m ever anywhere near a Plucker’s location, I’m heading in!

Old Bay Wings

My wife and I recently spent a few days in lovely Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while attending a conference. I made sure I had my ‘to-eat’ list down before leaving, because one thing you can be sure of finding in Pittsburgh: good food. At the top of my list was dry chicken wings. No, not dry like ‘ewww, this meat is dry’. Dry as in the wings aren’t tossed in sauce after being cooked. Instead they are dusted with seasoning. The end result is almost like roasted chicken, but with much more pronounced flavors. Now that we are back home, I had to make some of the favorites that I devoured in Pittsburgh, like these Old Bay wings, which are just flat-out incredible.

Old Bay Wings

My Old-Bay Addiction Just Got Worse

It’s really hard to beat crispy chicken wings that have the great crab-boil flavor of Old Bay seasoning. I ate these wings like I hadn’t had anything to eat in weeks. They disappeared so fast your head would spin. They are fantastic.

I went with Ranch dressing for the dipping sauce for these Old Bay seasoning wings, but seriously, you can eat them dry, as-is, with no sauce. There’s no need to drown them in sauce, the flavor stands on its own.

Also try some fantastic Old Bay Buffalo wings!
