Buffalo Wild Wings Chipotle BBQ Dry Wings

Sometimes I like to sit back and enjoy a big ole batch of dry wings. No sauce on them. Maybe some Ranch or blue cheese for dipping. But mostly just well-seasoned good ole wings. Like these Buffalo Wild Wings Chipotle BBQ dry wings. This is some of the best wing dust I’ve had. It has a hint of smoke and a hint of spiciness. A touch of sweetness. I found myself licking my fingers non-stop after each and every wing. You can’t beat the flavors from Buffalo Wild Wings.

More is Better

I definitely recommend that you don’t be shy when dusting your wings with Buffalo Wild Wings Chipotle BBQ wing seasoning. It’s fantastic stuff, and more is absolutely better so get it on there! You want your Buffalo Wild Wings Chipotle BBQ dry wings to pack the flavor into every bite!

Dry wings are a great treat to serve at a get-together. They’re less messy than wet wings. They keep their crunchiness much, much longer. And, if you want, you can still let people that want them wet enjoy them that way. Just give them a cup of sauce on the side, for dunking. That way everyone will be happy!

You can also use this seasoning on grilled burgers and chicken!

I like to air fry my dry wings. I season them upfront. Then I cook them. Then I season them again, hot out of the air fryer. Then I plate them. And then I season them again. Yep, three times. Three times the flavor. Three times the enjoyment!

My Trusty Wingman

My air fryer isn’t fancy. It doesn’t have any bells and whistles. Well, ok, it does have a bell when the timer goes off but that’s it. I don’t even use the timer actually. I use a timer on my phone that has two countdowns: one for 12 minutes and one for 6 minutes. That’s all I ever need to get perfect wings each and every time!

Gold Fever Wings

Mustard. Chicken wings. I had no idea that you could combine the two. Sure, I like mustard. On sandwiches, or hot dogs. Or burgers. But, wings? My beloved chicken wings? So I tried it. I had to, I’m a wingaholic. I can’t turn down a wing, no matter what. And… Yes! Oh yes! Gold Fever chicken wings have quickly rocketed to the top of the ‘chicken wings that we want regularly’ list around here. My wife absolutely loves them. Oh, and don’t worry about them being overly mustardy, either. There’s plenty of traditional Buffalo wing flavor too. Buffalo wings with a tang. What a wonderful thing!

Gold Fever Wings

Buffalo Wings with a Mustardy Twist

I just made a big batch of Gold Fever wings a few days ago. I’m making another tomorrow. That’s how good they are. Finger-licking good. Honey mustard. Traditional Buffalo-wing sauce flavors. Chicken wings. Fantastic. You can’t beat that combination.

This sauce is also great on smoked or grilled pork ribs.

Ch-Changes

The recipe calls for white pepper. If you don’t have it, don’t worry. Use black pepper. The usual stuff. White pepper is nice because it doesn’t add a bunch of speckles to the sauce. It tastes a bit different than black pepper but not so much that not using it is really going to change how wonderful this sauce is.

If you don’t have honey mustard you can make some by combining your favorite mustard (Dijon would be good here) with some honey. It’s really that easy!

Storing The Sauce

I store my leftover homemade sauces in squeeze bottles. If refrigerated, I set them out an hour before using so they come to room temperature. You don’t want to put cold sauce on hot wings!

Wingstop Ranch Dressing (Copycat Recipe)

This copycat recipe of the Ranch dressing from Wingstop absolutely blew me away. Not only did it make for the perfect wing-dipping sauce, it was fantastic on salads. And for vegetable dippin’. This is one delicious ranch dressing. Crazy delicious. If you’re looking for the ultimate ranch, you found it.

Wingstop Ranch Dressing (Copycat Recipe)

Make A Big Batch, You’ll Thank Me

This is the part of my posts when I usually say things like “next time I’ll….” or “this recipe would be better if…”. Well, not this time. I wouldn’t change a thing about this copycat recipe of the Wingstop ranch dressing. The perfect taste and the perfect consistency, it’s my go-to homemade ranch.

Ok, I thought about it more. I would change one thing. I’d make a double recipe! Or more!

Save The Light Stuff

This is not the time to go looking for ways to make a light dressing. Nope, not now, not here. Do not grab the low-cal mayonnaise. I don’t know what that stuff is good in but I definitely know it’s not good in this recipe.

The same goes for the buttermilk. If you’re trying to save on calories or whatever, or lean towards maybe healthier foods, I personally recommend stretching your next workout for 10-15 minutes instead of skimping on ingredients. You’ll be rewarded.

Garlic Parmesan Wings

These savory garlic Parmesan chicken wings were just absolutely fantastic. Nutty Parmesan cheese pairs well with earthy garlic. For me, just a little bit of cool Ranch dressing for dipping is all that is required. I want to enjoy the flavor of the wings, so I just dip a bit, if at all. The sauce is mighty finger-licking good. And it’s loaded with garlic, my favorite.

Garlic Parmesan Wings

Great Wings. Very Great Wings.

I cooked these garlic Parmesan wings on my Weber charcoal grill using the Vortex, which gives me that great crunchy skin and fantastic grilled flavor without a lot of effort. In fact, just about no effort whatsoever. It takes about 45 minutes for me to get the charcoal in the Vortex good and hot. Then it takes about another 45 minutes to cook the wings. The wings take on a great hint of charcoal flavor to boot, which is a nice change from deep-fried or even air-fried wings.

SouthHouse Spicy Ranch Wings

This is why you should not scroll through your Facebook feed too fast if it’s like mine and is full of food-related posts and ads. I don’t usually pay attention to ads but a recent one from SouthHouse, a sports bar and restaurant in Philadelphia caught my eye. I saw bottles of wing sauces and they all looked fantastic. They’re made in-house and sounded great, so I ordered a bottle of each flavor to try out. And as soon as they arrived, I made some delicious SouthHouse Spicy Ranch wings!

SouthHouse Spicy Ranch Wings

What’s The First Word In The Name?

The Spicy Ranch wing sauce is… spicy! That’s why the word ‘spicy’ comes first, I bet! It’s not super-Ranchy, and not buttermilk Ranchy like say, your favorite dressing. But as you can see above, it makes for some awesome-looking wings. And these SouthHouse Spicy Ranch wings taste as great as the look!

For me the heat in the SouthHouse Spicy Ranch wing sauce is just right. It hit me right up front, but then mellowed out as I went. So it’s not like I was curled up on the floor in a ball. I liked it. And I can use it as a dip for veggies too!

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

What Are You Waiting For?

Go make some wings! It’s not that hard to do! My go-to method is to air-fry them. A little seasoning first. Air-fried to perfection. Fantastic aroma as they cook. Crispy skin. Juicy meat. Tender. Ready for a sauce. Air-fried wings can hold up to being tossed with sauce, so that’s what I do. If they were deep-fried with a batter I wouldn’t abuse them like that. I’d gently brush the sauce on. Or serve it on the side, for dipping.

SouthHouse Honey Mustard Wings

Never have I been so happy as when I opened a bottle of honey mustard wing sauce from  SouthHouse, a bar and restaurant in south Philadelphia, and sauced up a batch of wings hot off my grill. This sauce made my day. My week. My month. I loved it. It has just the right sweetness. And just the right mustardness. I was worried about that. Sometimes, mustard sauces can be a bit too mustardy for me. Not this one, this was spot-on perfect and these SouthHouse Honey Mustard wings were fantastic!

SouthHouse Honey Mustard Wings

Mustardy Without Being Too Mustardy

You can’t go wrong with the honey mustard wing sauce from SouthHouse. It really impressed me and I’d have it again and again. And make sure you get extra, because it’s great as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets, too. And it’s great brushed onto fried chicken. Trust me. This is great stuff! Garlic Sriracha Dry Wings

I’m a huge fan of making chicken wings without saucing them in the traditional Buffalo wing manner. I season them and let them dry marinate for a bit, then cook them. When they are done I toss them with more seasoning and serve them ‘dry’, with a dipping sauce on the side. This time I used Weber Garlic Sriracha Seasoning, which is a little spicy, for some garlic Sriracha dry wings.

These are my kind of wings. Super-crazy crispy skin. Bite after bite packed with flavor. Easy to make, even easier to devour!

Garlic Sriracha Dry Wings

Great-Tasting Dry Wings

These garlic Sriracha dry wings came out fantastic. There’s enough kick to wake you up. The garlic adds a really great almost earthy flavor. I cooled them off with just straight-up Ranch dressing for dipping.

Just Make Some Wings!

I went my usual air-fryer route when I cooked these wings. You can use any method you like. The wings are just a blank canvas for whatever flavors you wish to add. In this case, a lot of garlicky goodness and a little heat. Air frying always gives me that perfect crunchy skin. But, deep-fried would be great too. Or grilled. And even baked. Just use lots of seasoning and you’ll love them!

Another Day, Another Seasoning

You can use this same approach using any seasoning you like. I like mine bold. And the good thing is, there are literally hundreds and hundreds to choose from. Store-bought or homemade. I will never run out of taste combinations. And you sure can’t beat dry wings for easy, either.

I do caution against using seasonings that contain sugar. Or molasses. Those kinds of things. Since we season the wings BEFORE they cook that sugary stuff can char or even burn during cooking. So keep away from those!

SouthHouse Buffalo Wings

SouthHouse is a restaurant/pub in the south part of Philadelphia. I’ve never been there, but that didn’t stop me from ordering a few bottles of their wing sauces. I had to. They looked fantastic, like they’re made with real ingredients, with care. And they are. The sauce looks amazing just sitting in the bottle. Little yummy things floating around, destined for greatness on a big ole batch of homemade SouthHouse Buffalo wings.

SouthHouse Buffalo Wings

A Fantastic Traditional Sauce

SouthHouse’s Buffalo wing sauce isn’t too spicy, I’d say it’s just right. A nice little kick, but nothing crazy spicy. It isn’t too thin or thick, it’s what I’d call a ‘normal’ consistency, perfect for wings. And critical for me, it’s not too vinegary. I thought it was a great all-around Buffalo wing sauce, worthy of the name and a great nod to the classic. These SouthHouse Buffalo wings are great wings!

Beer and Buffalo wings. Two great things that are even better together. What could be better? Well, beer-infused Buffalo wings, of course! Five-Alarm Buffalo Wings

I love savory chicken wings. I love sweet chicken wings. And I love chicken wings that are a bit spicy. For me that usually means not super spicy. Emphasis on ‘a bit spicy’. Well, I made an exception to that rule with these Five-Alarm Buffalo wings. I’m not sure what possessed me to do it, but I woke up one morning and decided I was going to make the hottest wings I could stand so I did. And you know what? I was totally surprised by just how much I loved them!

As hot as these were, I fell in love with them. Once I made it through the first few bites I got sorta used to the heat. I think. That or maybe I was hallucinating at that point and just thought I everything was great and I was ok.

Five-Alarm Buffalo Wings

Tasty Spiciness

If you want to tame back the heat (thank you Frank’s RedHot!) on these five-alarm Buffalo wings just cut back on the habanero hot sauce. I went full-bore. Yeah, they were spicy and my eyes may have watered a bit but they were TASTY! Usually my argument against things super hot is that the spiciness hides the flavors. Not so on these wings. I’d make them again. And I’d have plenty of blue cheese or ranch dressing around for dipping…

Dippings

I usually put my dressing or wing dipping sauces in condiment cups. They’re the right size for wings. Usually. Not these though. I needed extra, so I got a bowl. Just something you might consider…

I store my leftover homemade sauces in squeeze bottles. If refrigerated, I set them out an hour before using so they come to room temperature. You don’t want to put cold sauce on hot wings!
