Legend Larry’s Mild Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

Last time I didn’t like a sauce from Legend Larry’s was never. That’s because the fine folks there don’t mess around no matter what flavor we’re talking about. Like these Legend Larry’s mild Buffalo wing sauce wings. They are packed with flavor. No boring wings here. Classic flavors amped up a bit. Deliciously good, and with a little kick to boot. This is a great sauce that makes for great wings.

Legend Larry's Mild Buffalo Wings

The Perfect Amount of Heat

Legend Larry’s mild Buffalo wing sauce wings do have a bit of a kick to them. Oh, don’t get me wrong. It’s not a crazy hot sauce by any stretch but you will get that cayenne kick. If you’re serving this at a get-together you might wanna just let folks know it’s mild. Not medium. And definitely not scary hot.

If I am serving my wings with Ranch or blue cheese or some other sauce, I use these little sauce dipping cups. They’re the perfect size for dipping wings, nuggets, tenders and even vegetables. And they’re easy to clean, too!

Honey Hot Fried Wings

These honey hot fried wings were absolutely incredible. They’re deep-fried. The result is a crunchy skin and batter flavored with one of my favorite things, Old Bay seasoning. The sauce is a combination of honey, hot sauce and sesame oil. It’s a different taste that is amazing. Sweet, heat and umami in each and every bite. What started out as a shrimp recipe ended up being some of the best wings I’ve ever had. I cannot say enough how wonderful these were.

Honey Hot Fried Wings

Deep-Fried Deliciousness

I didn’t sauce these honey hot fried wings like I would my traditional deep fried wings. The sauce is full of flavor. Use it sparingly. The wings are ‘kissed’ with the sauce. Not drowned in it. It’s ok to double the sauce portion of the recipe if you prefer more sauce.

If I’m cooking for a crowd, I’ll break out my big deep fryer to make wings like these. But, if it’s just the two of us, I’ll fire up my Fry Daddy fryer. It’s the perfect size for both of us. It fries everything perfectly. And as an added bonus, it doesn’t use a lot of oil, which saves me money.

Sweet Baby Ray’s Garlic Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

I had a garlic Buffalo wing sauce once that had so much garlic in it I couldn’t taste the Buffalo-inspired flavors. Or pretty much anything the rest of the day for that matter. And I had one once that was so vinegary and spicy that I couldn’t taste the garlic. Well, Sweet Baby Ray’s garlic Buffalo wing sauce isn’t either of those wing sauces, that’s for sure! It’s perfectly garlicky. And perfectly spicy (I’d call it around medium). It’s perfectly balanced, and a sauce I’d call finger-licking good for sure. This is a great sauce.

Sweet Baby Ray's Garlic Buffalo Wings

Oh, It’s So Good!

I cannot say enough how I enjoyed this wings sauce. Like all of the sauces from Sweet Baby Ray’s, there’s nothing but great flavor in a sauce with the perfect consistency for wings. This sauce brings the garlic and the heat. It’s one of the best bottled sauces you’ll find.

Pickapeppa Buffalo-Style Wings

I had a landlord in college who always brought back bottle after bottle of Pickapeppa sauce whenever he went to Jamaica. I had never tasted anything like it. My food palate back then was ruined by fast foods. Pickapeppa woke me up to flavor. Actual flavor! And boy, oh boy, do Pickapeppa Buffalo-style wings ever bring that flavor in a tremendous sauce that is flat-out tasty. These Caribbean-inspired wings are nothing but satisfying, without a lot of heat.

Pickapeppa Buffalo-Style Wings

Totally Unique And Delicious

If a bottle of Worcestershire sauce moved to Jamaica, mellowed out a bit, mixed itself with some fruit and covered itself in spices. It’s sweeter with a bit of a vinegar tang and it’s much more complicated taste-wise that Worcestershire sauce. It’s what makes Pickapeppa Buffalo-style wings unlike any other wings you’ve had.

Wing Commander Fierce Dry Wings

I only needed to glance at the contents of the bottle of seasoning to know I would soon be making a batch of Wing Commander Fierce dry wings using a seasoning from the Fire & Smoke Society. The mix contains roasted garlic (a big favorite of mine) and tons of fantastic black pepper. And just a bit of cayenne for heat and a touch of brown sugar for sweetness.

Wing Commander Fierce Dry Wings

A Great Seasoning That Checks All The Boxes

The heat from these Wing Commander Fierce dry wings hits you later but it’s not super-spicy by any stretch. It has a slight southwestern feel to it. It’s amazing on just-cooked wings. You can also use it to season your wings before cooking. When deep-frying you add it to your coating. Grilling? Let the wings dry marinade in it for an hour first.

I’m a huge fan of the combination of black pepper and roasted garlic, so this seasoning checked all of the boxes for me. This seasoning is also fantastic on grilled burgers and steaks.

Sweet Baby Ray’s Mango Habanero Wing Sauce Wings

Oh my goodness. Oh me. I’m so badly addicted to Sweet Baby Ray’s Mango Habanero wing sauce that I cannot stop making wings tossed in the sauce, day after day. This sauce is everything I want in a sauce. It’s a little sweet. It has a hint of mango. Not overpowering, either. And just the right amount of heat. I wouldn’t call it hot, but it’s close to it. But the sweetness tames a lot of that heat. This sauce is beyond finger-licking good. I’d drink it out of the bottle. Without hesitation.

Sweet Baby Ray's Mango Habanero Wings

Sweet-n-Fruity. And Mighty Good.

I hope that the ‘Limited Edition’ words on the bottle of Sweet Baby Ray’s Mango Habanero wing sauce are just that. Words. This sauce is way, way too good to ever go away. I’ll have some on hand. And not just for wings, either. Slather it on grilled chicken. Brush it on rack after rack of smoked ribs. Drizzle it over salmon filets.

Legend Larry’s Sweet Thai Chili Wing Sauce Wings

Legend Larry’s Sweet Thai Chili wing sauce is fantastic. I am not surprised, though, because every sauce I’ve had from Legend Larry’s has been fantastic. Always the right consistency. Never overpowering. Just flat-out fantastic. This sauce has a slight kick, but not too much. You just notice it. It’s slightly sweet, but not so much so. It’s a great chili sauce by itself, but on wings it’s perfect.

Legend Larry's Sweet Thai Chili Wings

The Perfect Chili Sauce

Whomever comes up with the sauces at Legend Larry’s deserves a raise. I’ve never had anything but great experiences with their sauces. Memorable experiences. Copycat Hooter’s Medium Buffalo Wings

This is it. The mountaintop. The best. Some of my all-time favorite restaurant chain wings, made at home. These copycat Hooter’s medium Buffalo wings were so good that my stomach is growling while I’m writing this post. The flashbacks are making me smile. And hungry. These wings have the perfect breading, the perfect ‘bite’. They’re cooked perfectly. The sauce is spicy, but not too spicy. It’s buttery. Buttery-finger-licking-good. I could eat a mountain of these wings.

Copycat Hooter's Medium Buffalo Wings

Less Heat But Oh So Good

These copycat Hooter’s medium Buffalo wings are the kind you can serve to a crowd and serve proudly. Everyone will enjoy them. There’s not enough heat to really scare anyone off. Serve them with Ranch or blue cheese dressing in case people want to cool off a bit. Sure, add some carrot sticks and celery too. Personally, I don’t go for the ‘garden salad’ additions. I’m here for the wings.

I used Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce to make the sauce for these wings. It’s hard to stray from the original when making Buffalo-style wings. I do admit to using Crystal Hot Sauce from time-to-time, though. It’s got the right heat with a little Louisiana-twist.

Whole Foods Organic Nashville Wing Sauce Wings

If you’re a fan of Nashville hot chicken (and boy, am I ever) and you’re in the market for an organic alternative to the other Nashville hot chicken wing sauces on the market, then Whole Foods Organic Nashville wing sauce is right up your alley. It brings the classic Nashville cayenne heat in a light vinegar sauce that delivers on taste too. It’s not for the shy, but it has great taste too, and that’s a major plus!

Whole Foods Organic Nashville Wings

Great Flavors With A Great Kick

Whole Foods Organic Nashville wing sauce is a bit on the thin side. But then, authentic Nashville hot chicken isn’t covered in a thick sauce, either. If you like spiciness you’ll like this sauce. And if you like the taste of peppers you’ll like it even more. It’s a clean flavor. And by the way, it makes a great marinade for chicken breasts!

If I am serving my wings with Ranch or blue cheese or some other sauce, I use these little sauce dipping cups. They’re the perfect size for dipping wings, nuggets, tenders and even vegetables. And they’re easy to clean, too!

Hooter’s Medium Wing Sauce Wings

Hooter’s is where my wing addiction started. These Hooter’s medium wing sauce wings (deep fried!) are as close to the real thing as you can get. Lightly crunchy, super tasty breading with a just-spicy-enough Buffalo wing sauce. No pain from the heat here, just great wings. This is not a copycat recipe. These wings are made with the same breading and sauce you can order online or pick up in the retail section at any Hooter’s. Get some, make these wings, and be happy!

Hooter's Medium Wings

Great Wings Without All The Heat

I can fry 5-6 Hooter’s medium wing sauce wings at a time in a Fry Daddy fryer. It makes for some perfect wings. Only downside is that you can’t select the cook temperature, so I end up cooking my wings a bit longer since the oil is around 325 F-350 F. Still it makes for great wings in no time with a lot less oil than if I’d used my big restaurant-style fryer!

If you like to serve your Hooter’s medium wing sauce wings with carrots and celery on the side, I recommend that you take a vegetable peeler to remove the outer strings. The celery is oh so much more tender without those pesky things!

Need something with a little (actually a lot) more heat? Try Hooter’s 3 Mile Island wing sauce wings!
