Chef Hak’s Buffalo Wings

For the record, I apparently live in a cave. Where there’s no news from the outside. So I hadn’t heard of Chef Hak before I picked up a bottle of Chef Hak’s Buffalo wings sauce. Since then I’ve found that he’s a health-conscious person, with a large line of prepared foods and sauces. And it shows that he is focused on flavor, too. Because this is one tasty sauce. You’d might not even know or think about that other stuff. And don’t worry, it’s a nice middle-of-the-road-spicy sauce. Not too mellow and not too over-the-top.

Chef Hak's Buffalo Wings

Chef Hak’s Buffalo wings sauce is a tad bit on the thin side. Not so thin that it won’t stick to your wings. But, if you like your wings super sauce I’d suggest that you have bit of extra sauce in a lil bowl on the side for dipping your wings if you get the urge.

Wing-Time Thai Chili Buffalo Wings

I, like a lot of people, am a big fan of the Buffalo wing sauces from Wing-Time. They’re creamy, delicious, and come in different heat levels so they’re great for anyone and any occasion. So I was excited when I came across the Wing-Time Thai Chili Buffalo wings sauce in the grocery store. But, honestly, the first taste killed that excitement pretty quick. For a Buffalo sauce, this is another great sauce. But I got no Thai Chili flavor at all. I tried, too. I even asked others to taste it. Nothing. What happened? I don’t know. So, good Buffalo sauce, but not a Thai Chili sauce in my opinion.

Wing-Time Thai Chili Buffalo Wings

I couldn’t find any contact info for Wing-Time online. Their website is gone. Their Facebook page is inactive. Fortunately, though, the manufacturer of their sauces, Allied Old English, is still around (but didn’t respond to a DM on FB). I sure hope this means that their sauces will still be available online and in stores. I also hope that my experience with the Wing-Time Thai Chili Buffalo wings sauce was a fluke! I sure love their other sauces. Maybe my bottle got mis-labelled!

June Moon Buffalo Wings

The June Moon Spice Company has gone and done it again. This time, they’ve made a fantastic Buffalo wings sauce. Like their other sauces, June Moon Buffalo wings sauce looks great right out of the bottle. They only make small batch sauces, with the best ingredients. This sauce is nice and creamy. It’s not vinegar-based, which is a welcome change from the traditional Buffalo sauce. And it’s easy on those of us that can’t handle a lot vinegar, though there certainly is vinegar in the sauce. It’s very tasty, a tad garlicky and lightly spicy, but certainly not overly so. I’d call it mild.

June Moon Buffalo Wings

June Moon Buffalo wings sauce is also great on the side, as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets or tenders. Or on a grilled chicken sandwich. It’s nice creamy consistency will keep it sticking to whatever you use it on, without being gloppy. And it’s not so spicy that you’ll have people reaching for their water bottles (or milk).

Anchor Bar Hot Buffalo Wings

I’m pretty sure that if you make your own wings at home, by law, you have to have a few bottles of Anchor Bar Hot Buffalo wings sauce on hand at all times. The medium heat version is a great sauce to serve a crowd. But sometimes someone, maybe you, maybe not, wants some more kick. Well, say hello to the Anchor Bar hot Buffalo wings sauce. Same great flavor, more heat. Win!

Anchor Bar Hot Buffalo Wings

I wouldn’t call the spicier version of the classic sauce over-the-top spicy. It’s a great sauce with a great kick. It hits you then it sneaks off, leaving you with great flavor and great wings. Anchor Bar Hot Buffalo wings are really good. Finger-licking good. Get a few bottles and keep some on hand at all times. It’s the law!

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Buffalo Wild Wings Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings has had a hot Buffalo wing sauce on their menu for some time. This isn’t that. This is more. More heat. Much more. And yet, it tastes great. The heat is strong, it almost overpowers the flavor, but it doesn’t. I actually really, really enjoyed it which surprised me because I’m not usually into overly hot sauces. If this sauce was just about the heat I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much.

Buffalo Wild Wings Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings Wild Wings sauce is not the for faint of heart. But I’d urge you to ask your waitstaff for a taste next time you’re at a BW3s. Or just order a bottle and take the plunge in the privacy of your own home. Remember, it’s not as embarrassing to scream “OMG! That’s hot!” at home.

I keep a bottle of this sauce on hand for any time I run across a recipe (such as my Buffalo Turkey burgers) that calls for Buffalo wing sauce.

Fresh Thyme Wild Buffalo Wings

I’m a big fan of the wing sauces I’ve picked up at our local Fresh Thyme Market. They’ve all been super tasty and at the right price (that’s a win-win!). The Fresh Thyme Wild Buffalo wing sauce is no exception. This sauce is a nice, mellow Buffalo sauce. It’s a mix of great traditional Buffalo wing sauce flavor with a few twists. Worcestershire sauce and molasses make you realize that it’s not just another cayenne pepper sauce.

Fresh Thyme Wild Buffalo Wings

If you’re just a little kick to your wings, Fresh Thyme’s Wild Buffalo wing sauce is perfect for you. If you want a little more heat, try their Zesty Buffalo wing sauce. Either way, you can’t go wrong with Fresh Thyme wing sauces.

Moore’s Buffalo Wings

I thought this would be ‘just’ another Buffalo wing sauce but it turned out to be one of the tastiest traditional wing sauces I’ve ever had. Seasoned perfectly, with just the slightest hint of heat, it’s just… wonderful! I couldn’t get enough of it. Moore’s Buffalo wing sauce is just what I was looking for when I wanted some delicious lunchtime wings. The bottle says ‘tangy Southern flavor’. And I agree. But I would’ve added ‘fantastic’ to the description.

Moore's Buffalo Wings

Don’t be afraid to use Moore’s Buffalo wing sauce on more than wings. It’d be great as a chicken marinade for sure. Or in any recipe that calls for vinegar. Head over to Moore’s Marinades web site and check out their long list of fantastic recipes that use this sauce (and some of their other sauces too).

McCormick Air Fryer Buffalo Wings

Wow. Just wow. I was wandering around the grocery store when I hit the spice and seasonings aisle. There in a lil red box was some McCormick Air Fryer Buffalo wing seasoning mix. I thought, well, heck. That sounds good. Why not give it a shot? Well, by golly, I was super duper happy with these wings. Un-sauced, they are packed with garlic and traditional Buffalo flavors, with just a slight bit of a kick. And they’re perfectly crunchy! This is why I love air fryer wings. My air fryer never fails me!

McCormick Air Fryer Buffalo Wings

I couldn’t get over just how great these wings smelled as they cooked in my air fryer. The McCormick Buffalo Air Fryer Buffalo seasoning not only tastes great, it makes your mouth water in anticipation while the wings are getting done. But, don’t over-cook the wings. The seasoning will get a bit dark if you let the wings go too long.

Crystal Hot Sauce Buffalo Wings

Note: This post is for a homemade Buffalo wing sauce made with Crystal hot sauce. Crystal also makes an already-prepared wing sauce that you should also try!

Crystal Hot Sauce isn’t just good. It’s amazingly good. It’s not super spicy, not at all. But it’s oh so flavorful. It’s perfect on any food, but when you make a Buffalo wing sauce from it you’ve got something wonderful. These Crystal hot sauce Buffalo wings are definitely some of the best wings I’ve ever had. They are finger-licking good.

Crystal Hot Sauce Buffalo Wings

When you make the sauce for these Crystal hot sauce Buffalo wings you have to be mindful of two things: don’t have the heat too high and don’t cook it too long. You want just the slightest simmer. Enough to melt the butter, warm things up, and dissolve the seasonings. If you have the heat too high, or cook the sauce too long, the sauce will separate. A little separation is normal, you can whisk the ingredients and they’ll come back together. But if you overheat or overcook, it won’t get that nice consistency no matter how much you whisk.

Also make some Slap Ya Mama hot sauce wings! For extra kick, make some Secret Aardvark Habanero wings! Woo!
