Valentina Hot Sauce Buffalo Wings

Oh boy oh boy! It’s time for some good ole wing happiness! These Valentina hot sauce Buffalo wings are soooooo good I found myself licking the sauce bowl. First, and foremost, let’s talk flavor. Valentina hot sauce is crazy yummy. It has just the right pepper taste. Heat? Yes, it has some of that too but it’s really not that hot. It’ll wake you up but it won’t hurt you. Add that sauce to a few more ingredients and make a Buffalo sauce and you’ve got magic.

Valentina Hot Sauce Buffalo Wings

Absolutely Delicious Wings

Valentina hot sauce Buffalo wings sauce has the right consistency, sticking to your wings and staying there. Just enough. And if by chance some does drip off your wings and onto your plate, you’re going to want to sop it back up. Or heck, we’re friends here. Stick your finger in it and finish it off. You really don’t want to waste any. It’s delicious!

I make a lot of Buffalo wing sauces at home. The recipe below is my my basic recipe. I substitute whichever hot sauce I am using but the rest of the ingredients stay the same. It’s a great way to really highlight a hot sauce’s taste without burying it.

Schnucks Hatch Pepper Wing Sauce Wings

We stopped at a Schnucks grocery store on a recent trip to Illinois. I’d never been to a Schnucks. And boy oh boy did I ever hit the wing sauce jackpot there! Schnucks has their own brand of bottled sauces. All sorts of flavors. I grabbed one of each and when I got home I got to making some wings (and saucing them!). Sadly, there is an end to my journey and it came today when I made some Schnucks Hatch Pepper wing sauce wings. The last bottle of sauce in my pantry. And definitely one of the best!

Schnucks Hatch Pepper Wing Sauce Wings

Crazy Delicious

I might have been living under a rock, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that I was introduced to hatch peppers. I loved them at first bite. So much so that I ordered a case of them! They are so flavorful. Without a tremendous amount of heat. It’s that delicate balance that I really enjoy. And that’s why I loved these Schnucks Hatch Pepper Wing Sauce wings so much. The right amount of hatch pepper flavor. A little heat (but not too much). All in a sauce with the right consistency. This is a delicious sauce and a great way to end (for now) my trip thru the fine wing sauces from Schnucks.

Da Kine Hawaiian Original Dry Rub Seasoning Wings

The best things about dry wings are the super-crunchy skin and the wonderful combination of flavors. Although you can get great flavor in a wet wing, the skin doesn’t like to stay crunchy too long in the sauce. About half the wings I make are dry. Just like with wet wings, the combinations are almost endless. Today I made some Da Kine Hawaiian Original Dry Rub Seasoning wings in my air fryer. They were truly enjoyable.

Da Kine Hawaiian Original Dry Rub Seasoning Wings

Say Aloha To Greatness

Da Kine Hawaiian Original Dry Rub is a wonderful combination of saltiness along with hints of garlic, lemon pepper and coffee. Yep, coffee. It’s that essence of coffee that really adds amazing depth to these wings. I couldn’t get enough of the seasoning. I liked it so much that I seasoned my wings three times. Once before cooking. Again after cooking. And then again after plating.

You can make dry wings using any technique you like. Just grab a bottle of seasoning and got nuts with it!

Also try some wings sauced up right with Da Kine’s Spicy BBQ sauce.

Kentucky Kernel Seasoned Flour Chicken Wings

There are those that would argue that these Kentucky Kernel Seasoned Flour chicken wings are ‘just’ fried chicken. Yep, they are. They’re right. Well, not about the ‘just’ part though. These wings are delicious no matter what you call them. To ‘Buffalo-ize’ them I serve them with some sauce on the side for dunking. There, now we’re all happy!

Kentucky Kernel Seasoned Flour Chicken Wings

Through Thick Or Thin

Many Buffalo wings are battered and fried. Some have a thick coating. Some thin. These Kentucky Kernel Seasoned chicken wings are somewhere in the middle. They’re not overly battered so you might call them grandma’s fried chicken. But they aren’t so lightly battered that you’d call them traditional Buffalo wings either . Yes, I know, some folks don’t batter their Buffalo wings… but some do!

These wings have a wonder flavor. The seasoning in the batter is perfect. Not spicy, just tasty. Great just as they are, right out of the fryer. Even better, I think, dunked in Buffalo wing sauce. Not tossed in it, though. Tossing the chicken in sauce knocks off that crunchy batter and makes it soggy. So I go for the dunk!

Oh and yes, you can make these wings instead, if you prefer. I went for the deep-fry because that’s what I prefer!

For the Wings

  • Dunk the wings in the milk. Get them well-coated then shake off any excess.
  • Add the wings to the fry mix and turn to coat well. I like to press the wings into the mix several times to make sure I don't get any 'bald spots'.
  • Heat 3" of oil in a Dutch oven or deep fryer to 350 F.
  • Working in batches if necessary, fry the wings 8-10 minutes or until they reach 165 F. Transfer to a rack over a baking sheet or a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  • Serve.

Notes

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or wing sauce on the side, if desired.
I like to put my milk in a short glass and then dunk the wings into it. You can also add it to a bowl and just roll the wings around to get them well-coated.
Sure, you can bake your wings instead of deep-frying them! Just follow the instructions on the package.

Nando’s Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

There are a lot of Buffalo wing sauces out there. This one’s different. These Nando’s Buffalo wing sauce wings had a little something about them. A little taste that I haven’t found in other traditional wing sauces. This is all thanks to the addition of peri peri chilis. They’re fantastic. They make this sauce fantastic.

Nando's Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

Different Is Good

There’s nothing wrong with traditional Buffalo wings. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve had plenty of them. Many were similar. Some were different. And a few, like these Nando’s Buffalo wing sauce wings, were quite different, thanks to the sauce. Pretty much your ‘standard’ sauce consistency. And pretty ‘tame’ in the heat department. But mighty ‘yummy’ in the taste.

Nando’s Garlic Wing Sauce Wings

Garlic. Lots of garlic. More and more garlic. If you’re a big fan of garlic like I am, you’re going to love some Nando’s garlic wing sauce wings. This sauce is spot-on great for us garlic lovers. And it has a little bit of heat to it too. That’s an extra win. So go make yourself some wings, grab some of this wonderful sauce, and get to enjoying garlic greatness!

Nando's Garlic Wing Sauce Wings

Cook Them And They Will Eat

The sauce is the real star of this wing show. So when you make your wings, don’t go crazy seasoning them. You don’t want a flavor fight here. You want to taste all of that wonderful garlic. For me that usually means very-lightly seasoned wings cooked in an air fryer, then sauced to perfection and devoured immediately. No matter what method you use to cook them, you’re going to love the flavor of these Nando’s garlic wing sauce wings.

This sauce is also great for dipping wings, nuggets, tenders, you name it!

The Dirty Buffalo Sweet BBQ Wing Sauce Wings

It’s not that I didn’t want traditional Buffalo-style wings for lunch. But I did want a little break from them. I wanted a little sweetness. But not too sweet. I wasn’t looking for dessert wings! I’m a huge fan of BBQ sauced-wings. Any chance I get I tell people they shouldn’t just peruse the wing sauce section of their grocery store. They should spend some time over at the BBQ sauces too. You might find something great and make something almost as good as these The Dirty Buffalo Sweet BBQ wing sauce wings. These are mighty tasty wings and a great alternative to your usual spicy Buffalo wings. They’re definitely the kind of wings you could serve to the “no heat please” crowd.

Well, ok you could add a bit of heat but just a hint maybe.

The Dirty Buffalo Teriyaki Glaze Wing Sauce Wings

I’m wrapping up my journey through the wing sauces I ordered from The Dirty Buffalo, a regional wing and more joint in south eastern Virginia. Oh, trust me, I’ll be ordering more of their sauces. And seasonings. For now, I’m glad I ended up on what I think is the highest note: The Dirty Buffalo Teriyaki Glaze wing sauce wings. This wing sauce was my favorite. And it was hard to say that, because so many of them have been amazing. But this one really struck a chord with me. The perfect ‘umami’ flavor. Salty, sweet and lightly funky. I could not get enough of this sauce.

Yes, I licked my fingers while eating these wings. And yes I wished I’d gotten more sauce on them.

I Shoulda Bought More

I think this sauce would be fantastic in a stir-fry. Or nuggets. Anything. It’s delicious and perfectly balanced. I definitely should’ve ordered more bottles. Well, that’s ok because I can jump online and order some more, along with all of their other great flavors!

The Dirty Buffalo Sweet Heat Mesquite Wing Sauce Wings

I want to go to The Dirty Buffalo. It’s (more than) a wing joint in a few locations around Norfolk and, Virginia Beach in Virginia. Until I can get there I did the next best thing: I ordered a ton of their wing sauces online. I waited like a kid by the door until they arrived. And when they did, it truly was like Christmas. One of my first things to make were The Dirty Buffalo Sweet Heat Mesquite wing sauce wings. This is one of several of their award-winning sauces, so it seemed like a great place to start. And it was.

The Name Is Truth

Just like the name says, this sauce is a little sweet. But only lightly so. These aren’t dessert wings. Heat? Yes. But again, only slightly so. Well maybe a bit more than slightly if you’re heat-averse. But still, not crazy hot by any stretch. All with a gently smokiness in a sauce that is just the right consistency to stick to your wings without being gloppy. We don’t like gloppy and there’s no gloppy here!

The Dirty Buffalo Sweet Heat Mesquite Wings

Just Make Some Wings!

I used my standard air fryer recipe when I made these The Dirty Buffalo Sweet Heat Mesquite wing sauce wings. You can use whatever approach you want. I happened to go with my air fryer because that’s what I felt like today. Tomorrow, I’ll likely get out my deep-fryer! The key here is to not do anything that will hide the delicious flavors from the sauce. So don’t over-season your wings. Go light with it. Let the sauce shine. It’s really great stuff. Don’t fight it.

You’ll want to sauce up a batch of wings with some spicy BBQ sauce from The Dirty Buffalo, too!

The Dirty Buffalo Sweet Sriracha Wing Sauce Wings

Ask me what wings I had a year ago today and I’d say “good ones” but I can’t remember what wings they were. Wet? Dry? Dunno. I’m sure they were good.
