Simple Truth Organic Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

I’m sorry. I tried. I really tried. But I just could not make these Simple Truth Organic Medium Buffalo wing sauce wings work for me. I’m a nice guy. I gave them a chance. I made them two days in a room, two different ways, to make sure that it wasn’t me. Maybe I had a cold, I thought. Maybe the humidity was affecting my taste buds. But no, they still lacked something. The sauce starts out making me think that it’s a thin French salad dressing, with only a bit of flavor. Then there is heat next, and it’s good. I like the heat level I have to say. And there’s a little more flavor at that point. I just can’t get past that early… meh.

Simple Truth Organic Medium Buffalo Wings

Don’t Stop Believing

Now, don’t let these Simple Truth Organic Medium Buffalo wing sauce wings stop you from trying other flavors in this line of ‘clean’ sauces from Kroger. I’ve had great success and a lot of great batches of wings tossed in the other flavors. I just wanted happy with this one. But you know, we’re all different, and maybe (just maybe) you’ll like it! Let me know if you do! Or don’t.

Copycat Hooter’s Medium Buffalo Wings

This is it. The mountaintop. The best. Some of my all-time favorite restaurant chain wings, made at home. These copycat Hooter’s medium Buffalo wings were so good that my stomach is growling while I’m writing this post. The flashbacks are making me smile. And hungry. These wings have the perfect breading, the perfect ‘bite’. They’re cooked perfectly. The sauce is spicy, but not too spicy. It’s buttery. Buttery-finger-licking-good. I could eat a mountain of these wings.

Copycat Hooter's Medium Buffalo Wings

Less Heat But Oh So Good

These copycat Hooter’s medium Buffalo wings are the kind you can serve to a crowd and serve proudly. Everyone will enjoy them. There’s not enough heat to really scare anyone off. Serve them with Ranch or blue cheese dressing in case people want to cool off a bit. Sure, add some carrot sticks and celery too. Personally, I don’t go for the ‘garden salad’ additions. I’m here for the wings.

I used Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce to make the sauce for these wings. It’s hard to stray from the original when making Buffalo-style wings. I do admit to using Crystal Hot Sauce from time-to-time, though. It’s got the right heat with a little Louisiana-twist.

The Dirty Buffalo Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

I like to kick back after a long day of work and just relax and enjoy. Same with my wings. I like to kick back and relax and enjoy every bite. They don’t have to be crazy spicy. They don’t have to be too saucy. But, they have to be enjoyable. Like these The Dirty Buffalo medium Buffalo wing sauce wings. This sauce isn’t the kind that’s going to hurt. It has just a nice little kick to it. And it’s not lacking in classic flavor. Not at all. Whether I’m having my wings after work or at lunch, or just snacking, these are a great way to have a great day. This is one enjoyable sauce.

The Dirty Buffalo Medium Buffalo Wings

Make Some Wings. However You Like Them.

I used my air fryer to make my standard batch of air fryer wings then sauced them. I could’ve gone deep-fried. Or grilled. Or baked. Doesn’t really matter. Just make them your favorite way and sauce ’em up. The Dirty Buffalo medium Buffalo wing sauce wings are gonna be great no matter what. This sauce is all above great flavor.

The Classics Never Get Old

I ordered a ton of sauces from The Dirty Buffalo. Some are just fantastic versions of the classics, like this one. Some are totally different and new. It’s nice to have that mix. And boy, do they ever have a mix of them, too! I highly recommend you hop on over to their site and order some. Get some of their award-winning flavors, and of course grab some classics, too!

The Dirty Buffalo Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

Fantastic classic flavors without a lot of heat.
Prep Time5 minutes
Cook Time30 minutes
Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: American
Keyword: air fryer, wings
Servings: 1
Calories: 13kcal

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Lightly spray the basket of your air fryer with non-stick spray. Preheat per manufacturer's recommendation to 350 F.
  • Lightly salt the wings on all sides.
  • Add the wings to the basket (be careful it's hot!).
  • Cook wings for 12 minutes.
  • Flip the wings and cook another 12 minutes.
  • Increase the air fryer temperature to 400 F and cook another 6 minutes.
  • Remove wings from fryer and place in a bowl. Toss with the sauce. Click here for our guide on how to sauce wings.
  • Remove wings from the bowl and serve immediately.

Notes

Note: If your wing sauce is refrigerated, set it out on the countertop before starting the wings so that it warms up a bit. You don’t want to put cold sauce on hot wings.
Note: The full 30 minute cook time is for large, meaty wings. If your wings are a bit thinner (er… scrawny) back the times down to 10/10/4 minutes instead of 12/12/6 minutes.

Copycat Plucker’s Medium Buffalo Wings

It’s a tremendous understatement to say that I love Plucker’s wing sauces. I’ve tried many of their bottled sauces and they are all absolutely fantastic. I devoured my last bottle of medium Buffalo sauce, so I had to resort to making a copycat Plucker’s medium Buffalo wings sauce. Oh, and all was right in the world again! The perfect amount of heat, just enough to wake me up but not so much to make me cry. Wonderful traditional wing flavor. These are the wings that are destined to disappear in no time.

Copycat Plucker's Medium Buffalo Wings

Perfect Heat and Flavor

I cut the recipe down so I could enjoy a small batch of copycat Plucker’s medium Buffalo wings for my lunch. No point in heating up my huge restaurant-style deep fryer for just a handful of wings. So, I used my Fry Daddy fryer instead. This little fryer gets a workout in my house. It’s the perfect size for a small batch of wings.

I usually reach for the Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce when I make anything Buffalo-style. And sometimes I’ll go for Crystal Hot Sauce, which has a wonderful Louisiana-inspired flavor. You want a traditional cayenne sauce, and not something flavored like a habanero mango hot sauce!

Burman’s Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

We do most of our grocery shopping at Aldi’s. We love everything about the store. Of course, for me that means that I love their fresh wings. And did you know they have a great Buffalo wing sauce (under the Burman’s brand name) too? You know if it’s from Aldi it’s not only tasty, it’s at the right price. I recently made a batch of Burman’s medium Buffalo wing sauce wings. The sauce is perfect right out of the bottle. Lightly spicy. Great Buffalo-inspired flavor. And the right consistency to stick to your wings. I always keep a bottle of Buffalo wing sauce on-hand and this is one of my favorites!

Burman's Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

Just Make Some Wings

It doesn’t really matter what kind of cooked wings you use when you make Burman’s medium Buffalo wing sauce wings. Frozen (Aldi has those too!) and baked. Deep-fried. Air fried. Grilled. Whatever. Just cook them up and get them sauced and get ready for some classic Buffalo wing goodness. And yeah, grab some dressing from Aldi’s while you’re there too. You’ll want a little something to cool you off!

This sauce is also great served as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets. Or slather it on a grilled chicken sandwich! It’s got the right flavor and the right heat level for just about anything!

Kroger also sells a great medium Buffalo wing sauce. Try some homemade wings tossed in it, too!

Legend Larry’s Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

I have been more than pleased with the wing sauces from Legend Larry’s. I’ve never been to the actual restaurants, but if their bottled sauces are any indication of how good the food is, I’m going. And soon. The Legend Larry’s medium Buffalo wing sauce is the perfect middle-of-the-road spicy wing sauce. It’s exactly the sauce you want for your “I’m scared of the heat” guests, friends and family. Yet it still has that great Buffalo flavor and the perfect consistency for sticking to your wings without leaving you with a lake of sauce in the bottom of your plate. This is a fantastic sauce. Just like everything else from Legend Larry’s.

Legend Larry's Medium Buffalo Wings

The Perfect Sauce For A Party

Legend Larry’s medium Buffalo wing sauce is fantastic on wings, and it’s also great injected into wings! It’d also be great on roasted chicken in Buffalo chicken dip. I’m all about the wings, though, and this sauce really hit all the right notes on a batch of wings I cooked up for lunch.

Kroger Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

I’ve said it before. If you’re standing in the wing sauce section of the grocery store, trying to decide on the next sauce you’re going to grab for a great batch of wings, do not hesitate to try the store brand. I was at Kroger, and I couldn’t help myself. I grabbed one each of every one of their sauces, including the Kroger Medium Buffalo wing sauce. The sauce turned out to be perfect! A decent hint of heat and the perfect consistency. This is a mighty fine wing sauce, and boy, the price was right!

Kroger Medium Buffalo Wings

The Perfect Party Wing Sauce

If you by chance end up with any leftover Kroger’s medium Buffalo wing sauce, toss it in the fridge. Make sure you warm it a bit (at least to room temperature) before using it on your next batch of wings. Nothing makes hot wings sad faster than tossing them in cold wing sauce!

Kroger’s mild Buffalo wing sauce wings are great too!

Hooter’s Medium Wing Sauce Wings

Hooter’s is where my wing addiction started. These Hooter’s medium wing sauce wings (deep fried!) are as close to the real thing as you can get. Lightly crunchy, super tasty breading with a just-spicy-enough Buffalo wing sauce. No pain from the heat here, just great wings. This is not a copycat recipe. These wings are made with the same breading and sauce you can order online or pick up in the retail section at any Hooter’s. Get some, make these wings, and be happy!

Hooter's Medium Wings

Great Wings Without All The Heat

I can fry 5-6 Hooter’s medium wing sauce wings at a time in a Fry Daddy fryer. It makes for some perfect wings. Only downside is that you can’t select the cook temperature, so I end up cooking my wings a bit longer since the oil is around 325 F-350 F. Still it makes for great wings in no time with a lot less oil than if I’d used my big restaurant-style fryer!

If you like to serve your Hooter’s medium wing sauce wings with carrots and celery on the side, I recommend that you take a vegetable peeler to remove the outer strings. The celery is oh so much more tender without those pesky things!

Need something with a little (actually a lot) more heat? Try Hooter’s 3 Mile Island wing sauce wings!

Anchor Bar Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

Eating wings at the Anchor Bar is on my bucket list, and not near the bottom of the list either. Until I can get there to devour the original, I’ll have to ‘settle’ for my homemade wings tossed with the Anchor Bar Medium Buffalo wing sauce. I don’t consider it settling at all, because these wings were fantastic. Just the right amount of heat and absolutely great seasoning. I could’ve definitely had more of these Anchor Bar medium Buffalo wing sauce wings. A lot more.

Anchor Bar Medium Buffalo Wings

A Pantry Staple

I ordered Anchor Bar Medium Buffalo wing sauce online. I found the prices to be quite reasonable as was shipping. Don’t be shy, back up the truck and get as many sauces as you can fit into your pantry. They won’t last long. These Anchor Bar medium Buffalo wings are outstanding!

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Great Value Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

If you’ve been looking for a great, inexpensive store-bought Buffalo wing sauce that has just the right amount of kick but isn’t too spicy, the medium Buffalo wing sauce from Great Value (WalMart) is definitely the sauce for you. And me. Because I absolutely loved it. I decided to take a little break from hot wing sauces. This medium sauce definitely still satisfied my Buffalo wing craving without burning my mouth. It’s just barely spicy, and definitely very flavorful. Not overly vinegary. And the perfect consistency. I was really, really happy with it. This sauce is proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on a store sauce to get a good product.

Great Value Medium Buffalo Wings

Great Buffalo Flavor without all the Heat

The Great Value mild wing sauce is also great, perfect for wings for a crowd without having to worry about it being too spicy. I’d serve these alongside some hotter wings and let people choose their heat level.
