Perdue Lemon Pepper Crispy Air Fryer Wings

I kind of feel like maybe my luck has run out. I enjoyed my first experience with the air fryer wings from Perdue. The hot and spicy wings were yummy and definitely packed a bit of heat. Now I’ve moved on to Perdue Lemon Pepper Crispy Air Fryer wings. Just like the first ones I tried, the wings cook up nice and crunchy. No complaints there. But I felt these lacked in the flavor department. I didn’t get much of the lemon pepper that is advertised on the front of the bag.

Perdue Lemon Pepper Crispy Air Fryer Wings

They’re Crunchy!

Now, despite the lack of lemon pepper flavoring, I still like the crunch of these Perdue Lemon Pepper Crispy Air Fryer wings. Whatever batter they are tossed in cooks up nice and yummy. If they’d sell just the batter I’d be in for a good jug or two of it for sure! I also felt that this bag contained a number of smaller wing segments while also containing a few drumettes that could’ve used a bit of trimming first. Anyways, not bad… just not great!

Mighty Quinn’s Spicy Chile-Lime BBQ Wing Sauce Wings

I’m gonna fess up. I was a bit worried I might not like this sauce. I’ve had other lime-flavored sauces that were so ‘limey’ that I couldn’t taste anything else. My first taste made my worries disappear just like that. I loved these Mighty Quinn’s spicy chile-lime BBQ wing sauce wings. A lot. This sauce gets the lime ratio just right. It’s there but it doesn’t drown out the rest of the flavors. It’s great stuff!

Wings Your Way

I deep-fried my wings then sauced them. I could’ve grilled them. Or baked or air-fried them. The key here is the sauce. It’ll stick to your wings no matter how you could them. You’ll be rewarded with a fantastic balance of lime and heat and chile flavors. So make extra, you’ll want more of these Mighty Quinn’s spicy chile-lime BBQ wing sauce wings!

Thanksgiving Air Fryer Chicken Wings

The temperature outside dropped below 50F and my thoughts turned to Thanksgiving. I can’t help it. I was definitely looking forward to roasting a turkey in my oil-less fryer. But then, I thought, I love wings. How about taking that wonderful turkey seasoning and putting it on a batch of wings too? “Brilliant!” I exclaimed. So I made some Thanksgiving air fryer chicken wings and by golly, the holiday came early! Not only did these wings taste great, they made the house smell fantastic too!

Thanksgiving Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Back For Seconds

I made these Thanksgiving air fryer chicken wings two days in a row. I had to. They were great. I’ll let you in on a little modification that makes them even more Thanksgiving-y. I seasoned the wings upfront, like the recipe states. And I seasoned them when they were done, also like it states. But I also snuck in another round of seasoning. Before the last 6 minute cook, where the air fryer temp is increased to get that great crunchy skin, I placed the wings into a bowl and seasoned them some more. Back into the air fryer they went. Boy, were they ever finger-licking good!

Ingredients

  • 6 chicken wings flats and drumettes separated, tips saved to make stock

For the seasoning mix

Instructions

  • Combine all of the seasoning ingredients.
  • Sprinkle about half of the seasoning over the wings. Get them well-coated. Use less if you want, or more.
  • Cover the wings and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Lightly spray the basket of your air fryer with non-stick spray. Preheat per manufacturer's recommendation.
  • Toss the wing flats and drumettes with the seasoning.
  • Add the wings to the basket (be careful it’s hot!). If you have trouble fitting them without overlapping, stand the drumettes along the sides of the basket.
  • Cook at 360 F for 12 minutes for large wings, 10 minutes for smaller ones.
  • Carefully flip the wings (rotate the drumettes if they are standing) and cook another 12 minutes again (10 minutes for smaller wings) at 375 F.
  • Flip the wings one last time. Increase the temperature to 390 F and cook another 6 minutes (4 minutes for smaller wings).
  • Remove wings to a bowl and sprinkle with more of the seasoning. Toss to coat.
  • Serve.

Cholula Caliente Wing Sauce Wings

These Cholula Caliente wing sauce wings are something special. Traditional Buffalo wing sauce needed a south-of-the-border twist, and this is it. Nicely spicy, it has a great combination of peppers that make for one of the best tasting sauces I’ve had. If you’re a fan of Cholula’s hot sauce, you’ll be an even bigger fan of this wing sauce.

Cholula Caliente Wings

A Great Tasting Sauce

It’d be an understatement to say I’m a big lover of Cholula’s Caliente wing sauce. Ditto their other wing sauce that I’ve tried, Cholula Mexicali. And like any Cholula sauce, wing or hot, it’s good on just about anything. Like nachos. Or tacos. You name it. I don’t use it sparingly, I load up and then I add some more. No such thing as too much of this sauce.

And, according to my wife, the bottle is pretty.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Cholula Mexicali Wing Sauce Wings

Cholula Original Hot Sauce has long been a favorite of mine. I’ve used it on dishes and on wings for years. That’s why I was absolutely ecstatic when I saw that the folks at Cholula came out with their own pre-made wing sauces. I couldn’t grab them off the shelves at my local market quick enough. The first one I tried, Cholula Mexicali wing sauce, blew me away. This is the perfect just-spicy-enough wing sauce, with just a hint of citrus and cilantro. I could just drink this sauce right out of the bottle.

Cholula Mexicali Wings

This Sauce Is Great On Everything

Cholula Mexicali wing sauce is definitely not just for wings. I use it like a regular hot sauce, on tacos, enchiladas, you name it. I love the citrus and cilantro twist. But on wings, oh, it’s just amazing! And hey, it comes in a cool looking bottle!

Buffalo Wild Wings Spicy Garlic Wing Sauce Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings Spicy Garlic wing sauce is a nice combination of a classic medium vinegar-based Buffalo wing sauce with plenty of garlic. Lots of garlic. It’s not too spicy, but it’s not not-spicy either. I’d say it’s about middle-of-the-road spicy. It’s a good sauce and a nice twist on good-ole Buffalo sauce.

Buffalo Wild Wings Nashville Hot Wing Sauce Wings

I’m a big fan of Nashville hot chicken. I make it often, varying the amount of heat to suit my fancy that day. I was excited to try a bottled sauce with the same flavors: Buffalo Wild Wings Nashville Hot wing sauce! This sauce is tasty, with a hint of smokiness. It’s spicy, but I wouldn’t call it crazy spicy by any means. I’d say it’s just over medium hot…. ish. It reminds me of the real thing but without all the oil.

Buffalo Wild Wings Nashville Hot Wings

Classic Flavor with a Nice Kick

Sometimes I sauce my wings lightly. Sometimes I’m pretty liberal with the sauce. Buffalo Wild Wings Nashville Hot wing sauce is one I definitely go heavy with. I really liked the somewhat earthy, chili flavor and spicy kick. It’s a nice enjoyable sauce that’s different from many of the sauces on the market these days.

Buffalo Wild Wings Mango Habanero Wing Sauce Wings

Well, it does say it right there in the name: Habanero. Some sauces say they have habanero but don’t back it up with the heat (even though they should be quite hot according to the Scolville scale!). Well, Buffalo Wild Wings Mango Habanero wing sauce brings the heat. Oh yeah, you get the mango too. It’s not overwhelmed by the spicy pepper. This is a great sauce when you need some heat and flavor at the same time.

Buffalo Wild Wings Mango Habanero Wings

Great Heat. Great Flavor. Great sauce.

Buffalo Wild Wings Mango Habanero wing sauce is also fantastic on grilled burgers or chicken sandwiches. Really great. Just make sure you don’t have any guests that prefer less spicy foods, ‘cuz this sauce brings the heat and then some. You’ve been warned! (But it’s oooooh so good!)

Beef O Brady’s Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce Wings

We were on vacation in Georgia. I make a habit of checking out the wing sauce section of the local grocery stores when I go out of town. You never know what you might find. This time, I stopped at a Publix and wondered upon some Beef O Brady’s Garlic Parmesan wing sauce. Well, of course I bought some. And of course, as soon as we got back home I made some wings and tossed it with the sauce….. and…. Dang! What a great wing sauce! I mean crazy good! There’s no question it’s got garlic and Parmesan flavor. No question at all! It’s packed with flavor!

Beef O Brady's Garlic Parmesan Wings

One Heck of a Great Sauce

I cannot get over just how much I enjoy Beef O Brady’s Garlic Parmesan wing sauce. It’s not just yummy, it’s the perfect consistency. It would make for a fantastic chicken or steak marinade. And even a great salad dressing. This stuff is gold.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Blonde Beard’s Holy Hell Wing Sauce Wings

I was afraid when I sauced up some hot-out-of-the-deep-fryer wings with Blonde Beard’s Holy Hell wing sauce. Cayenne and scotch bonnet peppers ain’t something to sneeze at. You gotta be careful. Now, I got the heat, oh yes, but the flavor! Oh my! This is one of the tastiest (and pretty dang hot) wing sauces I’ve ever had. Buttery, peppery, it’s just one killer sauce. I highly recommend this sauce to any Buffalo wing sauce lover.

Blonde Beard's Holy Hell Wings

A Favorite in this House

So this is the part of my posts where I usually add some brilliant comments about the sauce. Like ‘Blonde Beard’s Holy Hell wing sauce is also great on grilled chicken’. Something like that. And you know, I bet it is great on grilled chicken, but I’m keeping this sauce all for myself and my wings.

Try every flavor from Blonde Beard’s. Get a bottle of each. But get two bottles of the Holy Hell sauce!
