Fresh Thyme Honey Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

I was very happy with these Fresh Thyme’s honey Buffalo wing sauce wings. It’s not the first sauce I’ve enjoyed from Fresh Thyme, and it won’t be the last. This is the perfect middle-of-the-road spicy Buffalo sauce. Just a hint of spiciness and just a hint of sweetness. I’d call it a ‘pleasant’ sauce, the kind that makes you happy.

Fresh Thyme Honey Buffalo Wings

A Lightly Sweet Twist on the Classic

One thing I’m particularly fond of with Fresh Thyme honey Buffalo wing sauce is that it’s not too vinegary. I’ve run across a few Buffalo sauces that were just a bit too strong for my tastes. Not this one. It’s perfectly balanced in every category. And it’s just the right consistency too. You don’t want a sauce that is too thin or too thick.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Tyson Smoked Crispy Wings

I admit it, I do eat my share of chicken wings. Most of the time that means picking up a family pack of 3-4 pounds of fresh wings at the grocery store and cooking them up. Fried, baked, grilled… any way I want. I also always keep some wings on hand in the freezer. Why? Because, well, I like them and they are quick and easy. I picked up a bag of these Tyson Smoked crispy wings and made them the other day in my air fryer. And ya know, for fast already-made wings, they were pretty good!

Tyson Smoked Crispy Wings

Crunchy Battered Yumminess

Tyson smoked crispy wings are a variety of wing pieces that are “smoked” and battered. Some pieces are bigger than others. Some are meatier than others. Cooking them involves tossing them into the air fryer or oven for a little bit. That’s it. They come out hot and crispy. Like really hot. So be careful with them until they cool a bit.

You can sauce the wings after you heat them or leave them un-sauced. They’re smaller wings, usually, making them easy to dunk in your favorite sauce or dressing. You could easily make these wings for a crowd, though you’d probably want to make them in the oven since you can only do a small amount at a time in the air fryer.

A Little Extra Cook Time

I like to cook these wings a few more minutes longer than the bag states. It could just be my air fryer or oven. I do like crunchier wings. That extra time gets me to crunchy wing happiness.

Also try some Tyson Caribbean style crispy wings.

  • Lightly spray your air fryer basket with non-stick spray. Preheat your air fryer to 360 F per the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Remove wings and let cool for 2 minutes before serving.

For the oven

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Add wings and cook for 10 minutes. Flip and cook another 10-15 minutes.

Tyson Korean BBQ Frozen Wings

I’m usually a make-them-fresh wing kinda guy. But I am also open to trying just about any wing you can make, including the ones I find in bags or boxes in the freezer section of my local grocery. I don’t usually have really high expectations for them. Often the ‘wings’ are small or don’t have much meat. Or are inconsistent in size and taste. So I tend to be kinda pessimistic when I buy them. I have to say, though, that I was pretty impressed with these Tyson Korean BBQ frozen wings. Meaty? Yep. Tasty? Yep.

Tyson Korean BBQ Frozen Wings

They Look Like Wings!

It might seem strange to be surprised that these Tyson Korean BBQ frozen wings look like wings. I’ve had some weird looking frozen wings before. I open the bag or box and wonder what I’m looking at. Not these, though. They looked like flats and drummies. I could recognize them. So right off the bat, things were looking good!

And They’re Tasty, Too!

These wings are coated in a kinda tangy Korean BBQ sauce. And not sorta coated. Unlike some wings, these wings have flavor all around, everywhere. These wings are not spicy. A little sweet but there’s no heat. I thought the sauce was quite tasty actually. I’d happily buy a bottle of this sauce by itself and use it on my own wings!

Spicy Dry Rub Hot Wings

There’s something about spicy dry-rubbed wings that I really love. It’s the subtle flavoring. Nothing overpowering. And you still taste the chicken. It’s easy to lose sight of the chicken when you drown them in sauce. That’s why I am more than happy with wings just tossed with seasoning, like these spicy dry rub hot wings. If you’ve never tried or even heard of dry wings, you’re missing out. Now’s your chance to have something amazing, something different than sauced wings.

Spicy Dry Rub Hot Wings

That Depth Of Flavor Thing

The seasoning on these spicy dry rub hot wings has the perfect combination of heat, with a hint of smoke. Smoked paprika is a great ingredient for cooking wings, especially if you deep fry them. It adds that ‘almost tastes grilled’ flavor without firing up the grill. I often add smoked paprika in place of sweet paprika for that reason.

I like to make my spice, rub and seasoning mixes in big batches and keep them in large bottles with easy-to-pour shaker lids.

Old Bay Wings

My wife and I recently spent a few days in lovely Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while attending a conference. I made sure I had my ‘to-eat’ list down before leaving, because one thing you can be sure of finding in Pittsburgh: good food. At the top of my list was dry chicken wings. No, not dry like ‘ewww, this meat is dry’. Dry as in the wings aren’t tossed in sauce after being cooked. Instead they are dusted with seasoning. The end result is almost like roasted chicken, but with much more pronounced flavors. Now that we are back home, I had to make some of the favorites that I devoured in Pittsburgh, like these Old Bay wings, which are just flat-out incredible.

Old Bay Wings

My Old-Bay Addiction Just Got Worse

It’s really hard to beat crispy chicken wings that have the great crab-boil flavor of Old Bay seasoning. I ate these wings like I hadn’t had anything to eat in weeks. They disappeared so fast your head would spin. They are fantastic.

I went with Ranch dressing for the dipping sauce for these Old Bay seasoning wings, but seriously, you can eat them dry, as-is, with no sauce. There’s no need to drown them in sauce, the flavor stands on its own.

Pepper Palace Watermelon Barbecue Sauce Wings

This is why you always have to hit up the sampling bar when you go to a Pepper Palace store. I’ve been to tons of their stores, and I always spend a good bit of time sampling. That’s where I ran across this barbecue sauce. Yes, barbecue. Of course I thought ‘wings’. Because I knew that Pepper Palace watermelon barbecue sauce wings would be different and fantastic. Fantastically different.

Pepper Palace Watermelon Barbecue Wings

Watermelon And Wings. It Works.

Pepper Palace watermelon barbecue sauce wings have just the right amount of watermelon flavor. Oh sure, you get a traditional BBQ sauce flavor too, and it’s balanced perfectly with the watermelon. These wings are a totally different change from your usual Buffalo-inspired wings.

Of course, this sauce is also fantastic on anything grilled, from ribs to pulled pork to whole roasted chicken.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of sauce, let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Plucker’s Manganero Wing Sauce Wings

Nuclear physics is hard. Brain surgery is hard. Figuring out that Plucker’s Manganero wing sauce is a combination of fruity mango and spicy habanero is not hard. It’s a great wing sauce for sure, like every other sauce I’ve tried from Plucker’s.

It’s not too spicy. You can still taste the wonderful mango flavor. That’s a plus for me. Too often you’re hunting for that star flavor only to find it drowned out by the kick from spicy peppers.

Plucker's Manganero Wings

Fruity Heat. That’s A Great Thing.

I picked up eighteen different bottles of wing sauce from Plucker’s. It’s a wing restaurant based out of Austin, Texas. Every single sauce, like Plucker’s manganero wing sauce, has been fantastic. So many different exciting flavors. I’d better get to making more wings!

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Meijer Caribbean Jerk Wing Sauce Wings

Hurray! Another great wing sauce from Meijer! Boy oh boy have I been happy with all of their sauces, and this Caribbean Jerk wing sauce is definitely no exception. It packs the allspice, the cinnamon, and oh yes, plenty of heat, into every single bite. For me, sometimes jerk seasoning or sauces can be a bit too heavy on the allspice. Not the case here. It’s the perfect blend of flavors.

Meijer Caribbean Jerk Wings

The Right Spice Balance

I don’t like to overly season my wings before cooking them, especially if I’m using a fantastic sauce like Meijer’s Caribbean Jerk wing sauce. I don’t want the spices to fight with the sauce, so I go simple: salt and pepper.

Legend Larry’s Raspberry Habanero Wing Sauce Wings

I have been more than pleased with the wing sauces from Legend Larry’s. I’ve never been to the actual restaurants, but if their bottled sauces are any indication of how good the food is, I’m going. And soon. Legend Larry’s Raspberry Habanero wing sauce is crazy good. You get a wonderful light raspberry flavor. Perfect. Then comes the heat. And it comes, too. Definitely spicy, but not so hot that you lose the sweet raspberry flavor. It’s the right amount of kick.

Legend Larry's Raspberry Habanero Wings

Berry Delicious And Spicy

Legend Larry’s Raspberry Habanero wing sauce is fantastic on wings. It’d also be great on smoked ribs, pulled pork, or roasted chicken for that matter. I’m all about the wings, though, and this sauce really hit all the right notes on a batch of wings I cooked up for lunch.

Legend Larry’s Bacon BBQ Wing Sauce Wings

Legend Larry’s Bacon BBQ wing sauce is not the first bottle of sauce I’ve tried from Legend Larry’s. And it won’t be the last, either. Every flavor is just spot-on fantastic. Some are mild, some are hot and some are very hot. Bacon BBQ is somewhere in the middle of the heat scale, combining a great smoky BBQ sauce with bacon deliciousness. No doubt it’d be fantastic on pulled pork or ribs, too, but for me, it’s a winner-winner on wings.
