Mango Barbecue Wings

Ahhhhhh. Yum. And easy. These mango barbecue wings hit the spot. Just the right amount of tropical fruitiness. Just the right hint of barbecue sauce. Now, if I wanted to, I could make it more fruity. Or use a totally different barbecue sauce and come up with a new tasting wing. That’s the beauty of this recipe.

Mango Barbecue Wings

I went with a pretty tame sauce for the BBQ part of these mango barbecue wings. I wanted a hint of smokiness, with just a little spiciness. Next time, I may go for a hotter version, but add more Mango nectar so I still get that fruity flavor. You can also make this sauce using other juices, such as orange, pineapple or grape.

I store my leftover homemade sauces in squeeze bottles. If refrigerated, I set them out an hour before using so they come to room temperature. You don’t want to put cold sauce on hot wings!

Beef O Brady’s Mango Habanero Wings

Do not fear the word ‘habanero’ in Beef O Brady’s mango habanero wings. Oh, don’t get wrong, it’s a bit spicy, but it’s not going to knock you out. And a whole lot of that heat is offset by what is probably the best mango flavor I’ve had in a wing sauce. There’s no denying that there’s mango. And molasses adds a fantastic sweetness and thickness. This is a wonderful sauce.

Beef O Brady's Mango Habanero Wings

I’ve found (sorry, bad pun) Beef O Brady’s mango habanero wings sauce a bit difficult to find online. I lucked out and found it at Jungle Jim’s International Market outside of Cincinnati, OH. The search is well worth it, so don’t give up if you can’t find it on your first attempt. I believe they also sell their sauces in their restaurants. The combination of heat and sweet and fruit is fantastic and makes for delightful wings!

The Fresh Thyme Wild Buffalo wing sauce is no exception. This sauce is a nice, mellow Buffalo sauce. It’s a mix of great traditional Buffalo wing sauce flavor with a few twists.
