Quaker Steak and Lube Arizona Ranch Wing Sauce Wings

I’ve had a big hankerin’ for some chicken wings ever since we drove over to Cincinnati and went shopping at Jungle Jim’s. I picked up a few bottles of Quaker Steak and Lube wing sauces, including this Arizona Ranch wing sauce. We’ve actually eaten at a Quaker Steak & Lube near Cincinnati, and really enjoyed it. We can’t wait for them to open one here in Indianapolis!

Quaker Steak and Lube Arizona Ranch Wings

Don’t Worry About The Heat Too Much

I really like the Quaker Steak and Lube Arizona Ranch sauce. It is like ranch dressing, for grownups. It has some kick, but not enough to scare grandma off. Personally, I’d for more kick, but I wasn’t the only one eating wings! You can see how the Arizona Ranch wing sauce stacks up heat-wise to the other yummy Quaker Steak & Lube sauces here.

A Great Sauce At A Great Price

I was worried that for $5-$6, the sauce was over-priced, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that that isn’t the case. For the number of wings I made I used only a little sauce, without sacrificing flavor. And the sauce sticks to the wings. Not gloppy, molasses sticky, but just sticky enough to not run off and form a puddle. I liked that. A lot.

Meijer Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

This right here is yet another example of why you should not poo-poo generic wing sauces. I absolutely love all of the Meijer wing sauces. Meijer’s Medium Buffalo wing sauce is lightly spicy, has that great Buffalo wing flavor, and has the perfect consistency. And consistency is important. Too many less-expensive sauces are watery. You end up with 10 times as much sauce on your plate as you do on your wings. That’s not why you made wings. You want them covered in sauce, not swimming in sauce soup.

Meijer Medium Buffalo Wings

The Right Sauce At The Right Price

Here in Indy at least, Meijer’s wing sauces are all under $3 for a 12 ounce bottle. That’s a really good price, and I often find them on sale for $2.80 or even less. That’s back-up-the-truck and load-up-on-wing sauce time for me. You can’t beat the price or the flavor, be it the Meijer medium Buffalo wing sauce or any other flavor. And they’re all-natural to boot!

Also try some Meijer spicy garlic wing sauce wings! They’re great too!

Great Value Parmesan Garlic Wing Sauce Wings

I often make my own chicken wing sauces. And then sometimes I don’t. I recently made it a goal of mine to try all of the wing sauces from the big grocery stores in our area: WalMart, Meijer, and Kroger. And far, I’ve been super impressed with the store sauces, like this Great Value Parmesan Garlic wing sauce. It’s thick enough to stick to the wings (it’s very thick, actually!) and it has great Parmesan and garlic flavor.

Great Value Parmesan Garlic Wings

A Great Sauce That’s Great On More Than Wings

Great Value Parmesan garlic wing sauce isn’t just great on wings. I like to roast or grill chicken breasts, chop or slice them, and toss with a bit of this sauce. It makes for the perfect creamy chicken over a salad.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Guy Fieri’s Korean BBQ Wing Sauce Wings

I love Asian-inspired chicken wings. Sometimes they’re a little sweet. Sometimes they’re a little spicy. That’s why I decided to pick up a bottle of Guy Fieri’s Korean BBQ wing sauce. This sauce has a teriyaki-like flavor, with plenty of soy sauce. And a little sweet, and a little heat, with hints of ginger and onion. It’s not overly thick and not overly thin, perfect on wings hot off the grill or out of the deep-fryer.

Guy Fieri's Korean BBQ Wings

A Wonderful Asian-Inspired Wing Sauce

I’ve seen around the internet that a few folks have been using Guy Fieri’s Korean BBQ wing sauce as a sauce for smoked or grilled ribs. I think that’s a great idea as this sauce would definitely stand up to being slathered on ribs. I definitely wouldn’t pigeon-hole it as ‘just’ a wing sauce. Heck, slather it on some grilled fish or toss some roasted vegetables in it. It’s that versatile and that good.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Crispy Woodfired Garlic Dry Wings

I made some delicious dry wings the other day using Kinder’s woodfired garlic rub. Man, were they ever insanely good. I fell in love with the roasted garlic flavor. Mixed with other spices, it’s a rich seasoning that is great on any meat. I was craving some deep-fried wings next, so I decided to add some of the seasoning and make my crispy woodfired garlic dry wings. And boy, did they ever deliver on flavor!

Crispy Woodfired Garlic Wings

Easy. Crunchy. And Tasty.

These crispy woodfired garlic dry wings took no time to prepare and cook. And eat for that matter. Kinder’s seasonings and sauces never disappoint. They don’t cut corners when it comes to quality and flavor. All I had to do was mix a little of this packed-with-roasted garlic seasoning with some flour and coat some wings. I let them ‘get happy’ in the fridge for 30 minutes. Then I fried them. That’s it. That’s all it takes to make perfect wings.

Ranch Wings

I recently spent a few days in lovely Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while attending a conference. I made sure I had my ‘to-eat’ list down before leaving, because one thing you can be sure of finding in Pittsburgh: good food. At the top of my list was dry Ranch chicken wings.

No, not dry like ‘ewww, this meat is dry’. Dry as in the wings aren’t tossed in sauce after being cooked. Instead they are dusted with seasoning. The end result is almost like roasted chicken, but with much more pronounced flavors. Now that we are back home, I had to make some of the favorites that I devoured in Pittsburgh, like these wings, which I first experienced in our hotel bar.

Ranch Wings

The Perfect Dry Wings

I went with Ranch dressing for the dipping sauce for these wings, but seriously, you can eat them dry, as-is, with no sauce. There’s no need to drown them in sauce, the flavor stands on its own.

Backyard BBQ Wings

These Backyard BBQ wings bring back memories. Memories of years ago, as a kid, enjoying those classic neighborhood grill-outs. The dads gathered around charcoal grills, the moms chatting away in a circle of lawn chairs. Us kids playing, running all over the place and even getting yelled out when we came to close to the grill.

Backyard BBQ Wings

Every Bite A Memory

There’s nothing I would change about Backyard BBQ wings. They’re easy to make. They come out juicy, tender and delicious. And they remind me of that grilled barbecue chicken from long ago.

You’d find mostly grilled chicken and burgers at these cook-outs. The chicken would be heavily brushed in BBQ sauce. Like these wings. Same great flavors as back then, but on delicious wings instead.

I store my leftover homemade sauces in squeeze bottles. If refrigerated, I set them out an hour before using so they come to room temperature. You don’t want to put cold sauce on hot wings!

Texas Pete’s Fiery Sweet Wing Sauce Wings

If you’ve got friends that want just a bit of heat and a good bit of sweet, then Texas Pete’s Fiery Sweet wing sauce is exactly what you are looking for. This is a stick-to-your-wings thicker sauce, almost BBQ sauce-like in thickness and taste. It’s mild in the spicy department, but I found it to be quite nice even though I usually prefer more heat. It’s pretty sweet, which is a welcome change from those vinegary Buffalo wings you might be used to having.

Texas Pete's Fiery Sweet Wings

Sweet Heat Goodness

Texas Pete’s Fiery Sweet wing sauce is great for much more than wings. It makes for a fantastic dipping sauce for chicken nuggets. And it’s a great substitute for BBQ sauce, too. Slather it on some grilled ribs or chicken. Or burgers! Yummy!

Also try Texas Pete’s extra mild Buffalo wing sauce wings.

Great Value Mild Buffalo Wing Sauce Wings

If you’ve been looking for a great, inexpensive store-bought Buffalo wing sauce that isn’t too spicy, the mild Buffalo wing sauce from Great Value (Walmart) is definitely the sauce for you. And me. Because I absolutely loved it. I decided to take a little break from hot wing sauces and this mild sauce definitely still satisfied my Buffalo wing craving without burning my mouth.

Great Value mild Buffalo wing sauce is the perfect sauce for feeding a crowd without having to worry about someone saying it’s too hot. It’s barely spicy, but very flavorful. Not overly vinegary. And the perfect consistency. I was really, really happy with it. This sauce is proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on a store sauce to get a good product.

Great Value Mild Buffalo Wings

Walmart’s Great Value brand has a whole lot of other wing sauce flavors. I can’t wait to try them. If they are anything like this mild wing sauce I’m in for a treat!

Roasted Green Chile Wings

One of the things I love about being addicted to cooking and eating chicken wings is that 99 times out of 100, every new recipe I try is just absolutely fantastic. I dream about chicken wings. A lot. And these roasted green chile wings, well, they were crazy good and certainly dream-worthy. I love chile peppers for the pepper flavor. And although I also love spicy, my number one love is that great pepper flavor, and the roasted green chile jelly from Albukirky Seasonings brings that and then some without scary spiciness.

Roasted Green Chile Wings

Great Rubs… And Sauces, Too!

The Albukirky Seasonings green chile BBQ rub (and also the red chile BBQ rub) has quickly become my go-to wing rub. It’s just perfect on wings (and other things, too, but I really, really enjoy it on wings). Combined with the green chile jelly, the roasted green chile wings made for a lunch that I won’t soon forget.

Also try my roasted red chile wings.
