If you’re gonna name a wing sauce ‘Louisiana Lickers’, I’m going to buy it. And so I did the last time we were in Cincinnati while shopping at Jungle Jim’s. I picked up a few bottles of Quaker Steak and Lube’s wing sauces, including one of Louisiana Lickers. No matter how you cook them, you’ll love these Quaker Steak and Lube Louisiana Lickers wings!

One Addictingly Good Sauce

I really like the Louisiana Lickers wing sauce. It is spicy, but definitely not overly spicy. It’s different, almost Jamaican jerkish (somewhat citrusy) in flavor to me. The Cajun flavor lingers, with just a bit of burn. It’s addicting, like all of the Quaker Steak & Lube sauces (see them all here). These Quaker Steak and Lube Louisiana Lickers wings are why I love eating at the restaurant and using their sauces to make sauces at home!

A Great Sauce At The Right Price

I was worried that for $5-$6, the sauce was over-priced, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that that isn’t the case. For the number of wings I made I used only a little sauce, without sacrificing flavor. And the sauce sticks to the wings. Not gloppy, molasses sticky, but just sticky enough to not run off and form a puddle. I liked that. A lot.

What Are You Waiting For?

Go make some wings! It’s not that hard to do! My go-to method is to air-fry them. A little seasoning first. Air-fried to perfection. Fantastic aroma as they cook. Crispy skin. Juicy meat. Tender. Ready for a sauce. Air-fried wings can hold up to being tossed with sauce, so that’s what I do. If they were deep-fried with a batter I wouldn’t abuse them like that. I’d gently brush the sauce on. Or serve it on the side, for dipping.

My Trusty Wingman

My air fryer isn’t fancy. It doesn’t have any bells and whistles. Well, ok, it does have a bell when the timer goes off but that’s it. I don’t even use the timer actually. I use a timer on my phone that has two countdowns: one for 12 minutes and one for 6 minutes. That’s all I ever need to get perfect wings each and every time!
