I saw ‘roasted pineapple and black pepper’ and thought to myself, man, I bet some Country Bob’s Roasted Pineapple and Black Pepper wing sauce wings would be crazy good. And they were good. I had no problem putting them away, that’s for sure. But were they crazy good? Not quite, but close. I coulda used more pineapple flavor and more pepper. But I did finish the whole bottle of sauce….
Nice ‘N Thick
My Country Bob’s Roasted Pineapple and Black Pepper wing sauce wings didn’t wow me. Oh, how I wanted to taste some roasted pineapple. I did but it was kinda hiding there. It did add a little nice sweetness. The pepper was more noticeable but over-the-top. The sauce was definitely the right thickness. Perfect I’d say. It stuck to my wings without being gloppy.
You know that little sticker on your car mirror? “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear”? I have an equivalent for bottled wing sauces. “Sauces may be even better on wings than they seem.” I tasted this chili lime sauce right out of the bottle and thought it was pretty darned lime-y. And pretty darned chili-y too. Then I put it on some air fryer wings. And man, oh man, was it great! These Country Bob’s Chili Lime wing sauce wings blew me away. The sauce is way, way better on wings than just drinking it right out of the bottle!
No Hiding
The chili and lime flavors aren’t hiding in these Country Bob’s chili and lime wing sauce wings. You don’t need to go searching for them. From that first bite you’re gonna get them. Heck, you can smell them too. They’re strong, but in an oh-so-good way. This is one of those wing sauces that you just cannot stop eating. I really wish I’d made more wings. I could not get enough!
This sauce is nice and just thick enough. It has the perfect consistency for wings. Not too thin that it slides right off. And not too thick that it’s like molasses. Perfect.
Note: If your wing sauce is refrigerated, set it out on the countertop before starting the wings so that it warms up a bit. You don’t want to put cold sauce on hot wings.Note: The full 30 minute cook time is for large, meaty wings. If your wings are a bit thinner (er… scrawny) back the times down to 10/10/4 minutes instead of 12/12/6 minutes.
This is not that sauce that was too spicy. And it’s not that sauce that was too sweet. This sauce is spot-on in both the heat and sweet departments. I love it. A lot. My Country Bob’s Hot Honey Buffalo wing sauce wings made me happy. Super happy, in fact. There’s nothing I didn’t like about this sauce. Except that I didn’t buy enough of it.
The Bees Knees
Sometimes I run across a wing sauce that contains honey that doesn’t really do it for me. I dunno exactly what it is, but there’ll be something, a little flavor thing, with the honey that throws me off. Not with these Country Bob’s Hot Honey Buffalo wing sauce wings. The flavor of honey was perfect for me. Not too strong. But noticeable. In a very good way.
So just make yourself some wings and sauce them up. No need to get fancy here, unless you want to. The wings can be as simple as salt and pepper and 20ish minutes in an air fryer. Or a little more, like battered and deep-fried until golden brown. Whatever works for you. Just get some sauce and get to eatin’!
