‘A delicate dance of pleasure and pain’. It says it right on the bottle of this Market District Hot Honey wings sauce. When I first saw this sauce on the shelf of our local Market District I knew I had to try it. It looks like great sauce. There’s yummy tasty-looking things floating in it. It looks like it’s just thick enough. And I do love sweet heat, so into my basket it went!
An All-Around Great Sauce
When I first took a taste of Market District Hot Honey Wings sauce I was hit with heat. Like I’d been stung by a bee. A bee named ‘scotch bonnet pepper’. But in an instant it was gone, replaced by a sweetness, and almost tropical pepper flavor. A lightly vinegar-based sauce with a hint of garlic, it definitely mixes heat and sweet without being too much of either. It’s really a truly great sauce, for wings, nuggets, grilled chicken, you name it.
Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.
