I’ve made a few wing dipping sauces that had tons of ingredients in them. You know, the ones that take a little bit of time to put together. This buttermilk blue cheese and chive dipping sauce isn’t one of those. A handful of ingredients makes for a great place to dunk your wings. Something to cool you off. There’s nothing huge going on here. Just creamy buttermilk richness with a little blue cheese and a hint of oniony goodness. Nothing too strong to overpower your wings, but great flavor nonetheless. This buttermilk blue cheese and chive wing dipping sauce is great for dunking deliciousness!

Dunk Away!
This buttermilk blue cheese and chive wing dipping sauce is a bit thinner than many. It pours out quite easily. You can add more blue cheese (or less buttermilk, depending on how you want to look at it) to make it thicker. But it’s ok thin, too. It’s also a great place to dunk those carrot and celery sticks you’re wondering what to do with.
If you don’t have or can’t find chives, green onions work just as well! In a pinch (and I do mean a pinch) you can use finely minced onion. I’d lean towards red, but sweet would work also.
This sauce is also fantastic on salads.
I like to serve my dipping sauces in condiment cups. Doesn’t have to be just this sauce, either. It can be Buffalo sauces. Any wing sauces. Any dipping sauces. Sometimes, it can be a selection of sauces. I can dip one wing in one sauce. And another wing in another sauce. I’m a grownup. It’s my place. Heck, if I want I can have 10 different sauces in one night! Being an adult is fun! Sometimes!
