Jimbo’s Mild Wang Sauce Wings

Nothing makes me happier than to discover a new wing sauce. Especially one that just wows the heck out of me. I was perusing the sauces at one of my favorite places on earth, Jungle Jim’s in Cincinnati, when I spotted the Jimbo’s Wang sauces. Nope, that’s not a typo. That’s what the bottle says. I grabbed a few and headed back home to make wings ASAP. I didn’t do anything fancy with them. Season ’em, cook ’em, sauce ’em. Then devour ’em. This sauce is crazy good. I was almost reminded of Heinz 57 steak sauce. A little ketchup-y. Hints of Worcestershire sauce. The perfect combination of tastes. And the right consistency, too. Man, what a great sauce.

It’s A Happy Time!

These Jimbo’s Mild Wang sauce wings made me happy. They came out great. I made my standard-issue air fryer wings. I didn’t want to load them up with a lot of in-my-face seasoning that might end up fighting the sauce. It being my first time using it, I didn’t want the sauce to be drowned out by other flavors. Now that I know what it’s like, I can adjust my seasoning to complement it. Or I can just go with salt and pepper and let the sauce do all the talking. Every day is a new day, and another great day to enjoy wings, like these!

Instructions

  • Lightly spray the basket of your air fryer with non-stick spray. Preheat per manufacturer’s recommendation.
  • Combine the baking powder and wing seasoning. Sprinkle over the wings and toss to coat.
  • Add the wings to the basket (be careful it’s hot!). If you have trouble fitting them without overlapping, stand the drumettes along the sides of the basket.
  • Cook at 360 F for 12 minutes for large wings, 10 minutes for smaller ones.
  • Carefully flip the wings (rotate the drumettes if they are standing) and cook another 12 minutes again (10 minutes for smaller wings) at 375 F.
  • Flip the wings one last time. Increase the temperature to 390 F and cook another 6 minutes (4 minutes for smaller wings).
  • Remove and toss with your favorite wing sauce.  Click here for our guide on how to sauce your wings.
